I agree. I believe I can honestly say that Cena's skillz are now second only to the great PN Newz himself. I hope that they've managed to get him signed (probably not easily, knowing his asking price these days) and are just keeping it a heavily guarded secret. PN Newz will take Cena to school!

They aren't going to allow themselves to be made to look bad by John Cena no matter what WWE pays them. They've got a fan base that expects them to uphold a little dignity for their vocation. And Cena can't beat either of them freestyle, so unless it was fixed, he'd be made to look like a chump.
It's kinda like when Bam Bam jobbed to LT. That was the end of his cred in wrestling. And no, Heyman didn't save shit...ECW doesn't count. That's like being fired from NBC and getting on KTLA 5 and then saying you "finally made it". | SchippeWreck

Second of all, there is no way John Cena is going to "win" the rap battle, or in any way make the actual rapper look bad. He might punk him out after getting demolished on the mic, but I'm sure Fabolous will get the last laugh, and Cena will be left fuming.
Fabolous isn't playing Pete Rose here. And I fully expect much bragging about how much he got paid to attend Wrestlemania (I'm showin' ya, I'm flowin', my fame is growin' - got paid more to go to Wrestlemainia than Hulk Hogan) to grace his next album.
How the hell you take a name like "Fabolous" and keep any semblance of street cred is beyond me though. | Battlezone

See, the thing with Fabolous, Nelly and other "MC's" of their ilk is that they have absolutely NO interest in street cred, or musical credibility for that matter. Nelly even said so himself.
Although, "Hot in Herre", a gritty tale about the youth of America and their attempt to get their groove on despite intense atmospheric pressure, is indeed a classic.

He is from Seattle and if WWE books it correctly, Cena has to lose the Challenge, and then punk out the guy that wins. Sir Mix A Lot wouldn't lose anything in that equation because he is not exactly selling records right now anyway and Cena would gain to get him over more as a heel by having him punk the hometown rapper. But then again, this is WWE in 2003, so Fabulous will probably win the Rap Challenge and then punk out Cena and then WWE will sonder why Cena is no longer over. | dwaters

| #48 Posted on 27.3.03 2124.58 Reposted on: 27.3.10 2126.46 | I think tonight's Smackdown solidified that John Cena WILL make the main event sooner than later. It's definitely looking like we'll have Brock/John Cena at Backlash.
So do you think they'd sacrifice him to FABOLOUS? Not likely. As I originally said, it's looking like we'll have a CELEBRITY PUNKING on our hands! And I've got no problem with that at all if it gets Cena extra heel heat.
But for God's sake, keep him away from Fred Durst. Beating up Limp Bizkit's frontman will only make Cena Smackdown's #1 face. | Excalibur05

Meanwhile, [Ashanti]'s slated to appear at this Sunday's WWE Wrestlemania XIX, singing a rendition of "America the Beautiful" to kick off the pay-per-view event. The addition comes as the WWE announced that Fabolous, who was to have performed, has dropped out. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
