| #1 Posted on 13.3.03 0302.08 Reposted on: 13.3.10 0302.19 | In the past two years the Buffalo Bills have broght in Drew Bledsoe, London Fletcher, Mike Holis and now have added Jeff Posey and Takeo Spikes as LBs' and Spikes'former head coach as an assistant head coach. They have also hosted several free agents such as DT Sam Adams and WR Kevin Dyson. Now while I believe tese players don't exactly put the Bills in the SuperBowl next year it sure is a huge turnaround for a team that was 3-13 just 2 seasons ago. Tom Donahoe IMO has done a masterful job rebuilding a franchise mired in Salary cap troubles and deplete of talented players, to a team that at last check after the Price trade and the Spikes sighning were still several million dollars of cap space and has brought in a slew of talented players.. any thoughts? | Promote this thread! | | The King of Keith

They are doing a fantastic job and while anything IS possible in the NFL, I don't know if they are Super Bowl material yet.
Now, the Washington Redskins...there's a different story :) | JWstorm

I think Josh Reed is ready to be a second WR in the NFL. Great job improving that defense. Now if they would only ditch the 46 defense or whatever they call what they were playing last season... | drjayphd

Yeah, the 46 works best when you, ya know, force turnovers... taking 12 games to get an INT doesn't seem to be the best strategy for that. | BionicRedNeck2k3

Obviously the best example of a 46 defense was the 85 Bears D that owned the league.. Buffalo and really no other D in the current NFL has the talent, save for possibly Tampa or a D that has a good inside LB like Ray Lewis in Baltimore and Brian Urlacher in Chicago. The addition of Spikes and Posey, who join London Fletcher in the middle, these LB's pose a formidable pass rushing threat and may actually be able to thrive in a 46 defense if they get penetration by the line (which may be adding DT Sam Adams), plus get agressive coverage and good run support from tough corners Antwoine Winfield and Nate Clements they should get those tunovers that drjayphd alluded to, and hopefully get off the field on 3rd down alot more than they did last season. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
