I'm not a fan of most of his non-Favreau films, but this guy NEEDS his own show. He's great with the guests, can work the crowd, and is the most comfortable looking host I've seen on their first night.
If Dave picks a regular sub host, Vaughn needs to be the guy. Promote this thread! | | timdrake

Then he just kind of faded away. Psycho, Made, etc just didn't work. He was by far my favorite part of Old School, however, and is right back in my good graces. I'd love to see him get a Comedy Central show, but I love seeing him on screen more. | Simba

I'm totally with you on the Old School opinion. He was actually the best character in the film. | Scar

It was certainly interesting. You could see that he was a little out of sorts at times, and then he would just be ON. Of course, Rosie Perez giving him tons to work with didn't hurt.
It was also weird to see him slouch in the chair so much, but maybe because (much like myself) he's a tall drink of H20, and most of his guests were midgets.
I'll be interested to see if Dave's back tonight, or if there's another guest host. | IPowerbombedKidman

Does anybody else remember when he used to get in arguements with Dennis Miller on Dennis Miller Live? | IPowerbombedKidman

| #12 Posted on 13.3.03 0910.30 Reposted on: 13.3.10 0916.35 | I taped the Vince Vaughan show because a friend of mine and I are big fans of his and we were both missing it, and because I love Paul Simon, so I sat down to watch it yesterday afternoon, and I absolutely loved it--the guy is just a natural, and the way he interacted with the guests was too much fun.
But, as much as I loved that, I have to say when I turned on Letterman last night and saw the man, the myth, the legend known as Elvis Costello walk through the curtain, my head nearly exploded. He wasn't as natural as Vaughan, but damn was he funny. And, it was an absolute trip. The difference between him singing and just being "himself" is amazing, and "Peac, Love and Understanding" worked on too many levels, and of course, after singing that, I went nuts personally (because it was SOOOO Costello) when he said "We'll be right back after these Capitalist messages!"

Best part was his Kenny Rogers imitation, although I would've preferred a Neil Diamond imitation. Nevertheless, good show. | The Big Kat

| #14 Posted on 14.3.03 1659.25 Reposted on: 14.3.10 1659.42 | The guest hosts this week have been fantastic. Vaughn, Costello, and Ferrell made for some great TV. I thought VV was hilarious, although Rosie Perez's stories helped. But he was still a natural. And Ferrell asking how much his guests weighed was really funny. They beat the crap out of the hosts last week. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
