| #1 Posted on 7.3.03 1810.34 Reposted on: 7.3.10 1810.37 | Okay, so this is totally a fantasy booking situation, but at the same time I think it would make sense, and I’m just curious what you guys think:
Team Angle has already said that they had nothing to do with Edge’s injury. Kurt is currently slated to face Brock next week, but what if he turns up injured just like Edge, out of action and unable to wrestle for a year? Again, no one knows who did it.
The next week, since Kurt cannot wrestle, the title will then have to be vacated. Steph offers to have Angle forfeit the title to Brock, and thus he’d be the champ, but Benoit comes out to challenge him for it. Steph refuses, since Benoit wasn’t even in contention for the title. At which point Benoit snaps, and tells her that he didn’t go to all the trouble of crippling Edge and Angle just to see the thing he’s sacrificed so much for go out of his reach again. Brock accepts Benoit’s challenge, and the title will go to whoever wins their Wrestlemania match. And just like that, you’ve got a motivated heel Benoit vs. face Brock feud which could run for several months if done right.

The only thing I see wrong with that is why would Benoit cripple Edge before No Way Out when he was Benoit's partner. Granted, he and Brock did win the match, but why would Benoit put himself at a 3 vs. 2 disadvantage? | Gugs

Of course that spoilsport Brock had to go and win the match and then win a handicap match, so Benoit had to do what he had to do. | cfgb

So, on SmackDown! this week, it's Brock against Angle, right? So, Angle nearly beats Brock, and it's a back & forth match. BUT, Team Angle comes down and helps Lesnar CHEAT TO WIN. And then they beat the HELL outta Angle and Heyman reveals that Brock & Heyman have been in cahoots all along. The Big Show beating Brock, the Angle angle, the Chase, ALL OF IT. Heyman just wanted to screw with Angle, and everyone fell for it. Angle turns face, but is "injured" in the melee and stretchered away as Heyman & Brock make their speech. So, as they're heckling Angle as he's wheeled up the ramp, a stone-faced Chris Benoit walks down, passing Angle being wheeled up. Heyman offers Benoit a spot in Team Lesnar as he nears the ring, but Benoit just calmly walks into the ring, grabs Heyman and puts him in the Crossface before Team Lesnar [Lesnar, Haas, Benjamin, Big Show & A-Train] lay a HUGE beating on him.
The next week, Heyman sez that if Benoit can win a GAUNTLET match against A-Train, Big Show, Haas & Benjamin, he can have a title shot at WrestleMania. Benoit gets past A-Train easy, has a bit of trouble with the Show, but wins. He beats Benjamin, but in the final match with Charlie Haas, everyone else from Team Lesnar comes down to interefere. SO, RHYNO comes down and GORES everything in sight (except Benoit), letting Benoit bust out the Crossface for the win.
And at WrestleMania, we get a 5-star match. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
