Its been a while since I've really watched some so, I ordered some Shin Nihon, Michinoku Pro, and Arison. The Michinoku Pro commentary was blah... the Shin Nihon wasn't too bad... but goodness, the Arison just had me cracking up.

I'm watching the 5th anniversary show, and watching the Tamada/Inoue vs Fujita/Akino match... and the commentator is like "I think she's a good woman!" when talking about Inoue Takako (not the pop star) and then he's like "The challengers are good, aren't they?"

Oh man... I love the action and stiffness... but whooo... I'd even listen to Coach and King over this stuff...

Any other weird Japanese Commentary stories that you'd like to share with us.... no.. I haven't had the chance to hear SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIININGU UIZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARUDO...

I hope that I didn't do anything wrong by making this thread.

Personally, I dont understand a damn word of it, but I think it's funny as hell to hear five minutes of Japanese, then "Turnbuckle".

Anyways, no better commentary than hearing "SHIN-ING WIZAHDOHHHHH".

That, and I'm a huge Keiji mark lol

I prefer when they say "punchie."

I heard something really funny the other day, but I can't remember what tape it was on or what it was. That's how funny it was.

Some of my favorite "random english":

"Pile-drivah"
"Count of three"
"Tiga Driva"
"Lariat-o"

This is especially true if you play import Japanese wrestling games, where the soundbites loop, just like they do on the WWF games.

I saw an FMW match once where Tommy Dreamer grabbed Francine's crotch in a claw grip and the japanese announcers went absolutely berzerk. I have it on DVD actually..

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMENGIRIIII~!"

It's fun to think about how English commentary probably sounds just as funny to Japanese people. You just know somewhere, right now, somebody in Japan is making fun of Jim Ross. "MAH GAWD IN HEAVEN! DAMN HIM! DAMN THAT TRIPLE H!"

Little quibble. The women's promotion is called ARSION.
(I have the t-shirt and autographed pic of Michiko Ohmukai to prove it!)

I'm a mark for the "LARIATO!" call. At Revolution Pro shows in 2001, I was screaming it whenever it was thrown. At one of their shows, you can hear me and one of the RevPro wrestlers going off on it.

Also, my favorite call personally, was on a NJ PPV where Keiji Mutoh and Taiyo Kea won the IWGP Tag Team Titles. mentioning the participants, the one thing you can make out from them is "MIGHTY MIGHTY MUTOH KEIJI!"

I rebeaked that show over at weekly visitor. That might have been the same one where at the end of some match, the commentators just screamed for like 10 minutes. FMW was the best.
