If WWE.com was run by someone not affiliated with the WWE, I'd think it's a pretty damn good site, but considering it is run by the WWE, it's pretty disappointing.

They have so much at their disposable; the WWE Superstars themselves, a MASSIVE tape library, hundreds of thousands of photos, but they make little to no use of all this whatsoever, which is a shame.

The content they put up is incredibly boring; uninteresting articles, small 240 x 180 pictures, bland recaps of shows, not to mention that they don't seem to update as much as they could.

If I ran WWE.com I'd:

- Bring a digital camera backstage at Raw and Smackdown and take photos left and right. I think it would be pretty interesting to see how things are backstage.

- Have hard hitting shoot interviews. I'd like to know what
the superstars REALLY think.

- Add a messageboard, so you could interact with thousands of fans. If things get out of line, ban their IP address.

- Add retro features. Like I could take a look back at Papa Shango for example. I'd post up photos and videos of his matches, and ask WWE employess what they thought of this character. This could be done with so many superstars, the possiblities are endless.

These are a few ideas I have, if only the WWE could use them, but knowing them, they won't.

From a business standpoint, why give that stuff away when you could get someone to pay for it. I know I rarely ever go to WWE.COM but if it ever added features like that but went somewhat pay based I'd never head over again.

If they added the features I mentioned, I'd wouldn't mind paying a fee for it. Beats some t-shirt from shopzone.

I think it'd be cool too if they had like messageboards that authentic WWE SUPERSTARS posted on, old school PPV recaps, video downloads and the likes but like HXCJOE said nobody is making any money off of websites these days. In fact, WWE just shut down Hogan's WWE endorsed website, WWEtitlehistories.com and a ton of other company run sites as a cost cutting expendature so unfortunately I think they have downgrading in mind rather than upgrading.

For whatever reason, WWE doesnt like to put ANY effort into anything that is not related to putting over the current product (See: RAW X). That's why I dont think you'll see them spend any considerable amount of time on old gimmicks/angles, but I'd love to see it.

I see the message board being a DISASTER to anyone over the age of 10 ("oMg HhH r00lz benoyt suxx0rz~!!1!!1").

Hard-hitting interviews? Probably not. I wouldnt DARE do a "Hard-hitting" shoot-interview on *MY* boss/co-workers, I dont think WWE employees are in a big hurry to do it either.

I really like the idea about the backstage digital camera at shows, but that may be just a bit too *inside* for the WWE. I mean, I'm an adult and I know wrestling is fake (pre-scripted, pre-planned, whatever), but still I dont wanna SEE heels/faces hanging out backstage, you know?

Having said all that, I do agree with you that there is TONS more the WWE could be doing with their site.

That, and you are forgetting the most important reason they DON'T do any of this. THEY HATE THE INTERNET.

They HATE us, they are not going to give US anything, they don't have to. They know that we are thier core audience that will NEVER go away, so they don't spend time or money on an already sold customer. There are hundreds, no, thousands of wrestling related web sites out here filled with devoted fans. These sites give free advertising for the company because THEY are not spending a dime on them. Why waste resources on something when other people are doing it for free for them.

Speaking of using the library, where the hell did WrestleManiaHistory.com go to?

Every year I look forward to that site because of the old clips and recaps. What happened??

I have to say that I feel many other wrestling websites much more, because they have interesting recaps, and lots of PICTURES. Pictures are where it's at, in my books. Then you feel like you were there, even if you didn't see it live. But you wish you had.

Some of my favorite sites:
