This is a devastating blow to the whole company and especially the Smackdown roster. I'd argue that a tournament would be the best thing for Mania. At the least, it would give something for guys like Eddy and Rey to do.

They wouldn't even let anyone TOUCH Edge for his injury angle, that's how serious it is. I don't think they could even have someone lay out Angle.

Why not have Angle laid out in the same fashion as Edge and have another Whodunnit? storyline? The same person took out Edge and Angle and whoever it is becomes a monster heel in the process. Benoit? Cena? Guerrero? Someone from RAW?

Do you think that all these injuries could have to do with the "WWE Style"? I mean, all the Rolling Germans and everyone taking dangerous bumps to try and top what the other wrestlers have done before can't exactly healthy. Aren't they supposed to go to a more submission based style?

Where do we go from here...

You, my friend, are an idiot. Saying that this is punishment for the WWE is retarded. I know you are trying some lame half-assed attempt at humor, but I'm seriously offended by this.

With that said, I'm really upset about this. Angle/Lesnar had me incredibly excited. As a matter of fact, it was probably the most excited I've been in a while. Now what? I think Lesnar still goes over with the title at Mania, but against who? It could be a number of people. Best case scenario is Benoit or Taker (YES, I SAID TAKER).

I just suggested this in another thread: Steph gets footage of Team Angle beating down Edge, and responds by stripping Kurt of the title and suspending him until Edge comes back. This way, Kurt suffers no loss of credibility (which he would if he jobbed the title in a quickie match to ANYBODY), the WWF gives a good in-character excuse for BOTH Edge and Angle being gone for so long, and you start laying the groundwork for a WM triumph for Edge over Angle two years from now.

Make the moment as real and touching as possible. Then you have Benoit come out and just attack. Lay out Lesnar with a chair, put Angle (gingerly) in the crossface, and just get on the mic and rail as much as possible. Maybe have Heyman as a mouthpiece talking about what a loser and and a crybaby Angle is. Then have Steph announce a match at WM to fill the vacant WWE title between Lesnar and Benoit.

Sometimes I wish you were booking for WWE.

Seriously though, if Angle stepped up like that, then they give him the HHH style super-face injury/recovery story treatment with vignettes and whatnot, he could come back as the Strongest Face ever, to counter a Heel Brock. I don't want Benoit to be Heel again for a while though, because I think he's more effective when people can CHEER for him.

No, sir, I do not kid. I'm not trying to stretch this into a humorous situation. This is horrible for Kurt and Brock and for the company. Just compare the Fed over the past two years with WCW in 1993. Pretty much the same situation happened back then as now.

That's all I'm saying.

That's what needs to happen. When Angle returns, he'll be fresh, and ready to go to a new point with his character. Super Babyface Angle is the route they need to go to carry the WWE into the future.

This is so bad. Combine this with Rock leaving soon and you have a company with ONE main event heel. And he wrestles on a bad quad. John Cena may have just been welcomed to the main event. Not at Wrestlemania, but pretty soon. Someone has to step up.

Well, hindsight is 20-20, but going around the world to give people a Show without your Champion is TOTALLY LAME.

MSKJ: I wouldn't be surprised if Rock tries to postpone his next film shoot. He's got to recognize, especially with this, that the Fed needs him now more than ever.

Rock isn't putting $5 million of easy money on hold. I bet he could careless about Vince and WWE, IMO. More power to him.

Looks like its time for me to head on over to corey's wrestling tapes and buy volumes 3, 4 and 5 of every apperance kurt has ever had on WWF/WWE TV to add to the volumes 1 and 2 i already own. I plan to spread the watching of these tapes over the next year to lessen the pain :(

I like the tournament idea but I don't think that McMahon is too keen on tourneys since he is nixing King of the Ring.

Basically they need a transitional champion to hold the title for a few weeks and drop it. Where is Mick Foley when you need him?

I can't think of too many people for this. Benoit would be the most logical choice. Goldberg would be a big match but would Goldy sign with WWE just to lose at Wrestlemania? Big Show or Undertaker would suck.

This sucks, this is the worst injury easily since Austin getting surgery in late 99. Argue with me all you want, but in my honest opinion Angle is the best all around performer in the WWE today and possibly the best ever. Want a straight man, a funny man, a super-heel, a cowardly heel, a mind-games heel, a humorous face, a badass face, someone to job, someone to carry anyone to a 3-star match, etc. etc. You call Angle. Angle is one of those wrestlers that makes you proud to be a wrestling fan.... if someone insults you about wrestling, mention Angle and what he has done. My Dad normally doesn't watch wrestling, but if Angle is on, he'll run to the TV. Angle is a real life hero and hell of a guy from what I have heard of my (amateur) wrestling friends who have met him. He always goes out of his way to entertain us better than anyone else, and it really hurts to see this happen. This is some seriously sad news..... I have Angle's theme as my cell phone ringtone, and now everytime anyone calls me it reminds me of his injury.... this really really sucks.
The only, and ONLY ray of sunlight in all this is get ready workrate fans.... here comes Benoit!
