I was hoping Merle would turn around, but alas no. This was the perfect way for Merle to go out. He used the Governor's walker bomb against him, took a nice chunk of the Woodbury army out and almost got the Governor. Michonne was pretty awesome through everything. Rick dissolving the Ricktorship was sad. I believed in the Ricktorship. Darryll looking into the soulful zombie eyes of Michael Rooker was deep. Honestly Reedus has been a constant source of good acting and that scene, he hit it out of the park. I will miss the Dixon Brothers of Destruction.

Let's see, at the behest of a Southern white man, another Southern white man kidnaps, bags, and ties up black woman to give her to different Southern white man. But he lets her go. Lincoln would be proud.

But seriously, Michonne did a fantastic job of talking herself to freedom. She really should do more talking. She's accomplished twice after she's started speaking than when she was just glares and samurai sword swings.

Rick dissolved the Ricktatorship! I loved Rick's Braveheart speech. "I ain't your Governor. We vote! Stay and fight or leave. Well, I'm leaving. See ya."

War were declared. The Walking Dead would be a pretty weird show if Rick's group are all killed next week and season 4 was just the Governor torturing Andrea every week.

Why isn't The Walking Dead being franchised like Law & Order or CSI? Atlanta can't be the center of the universe. How's the zombie apocalypse going in New York, DC, LA, Miami, or Vancouver?

Merle is the Charles Darnay of The Walking Dead. T'is a far, far better thing he did than he's ever done...

This whole thing isn't getting wrapped up next week, is it? I think the Governor saga is going to take up season four too.

What we saw in the previews looks sorta like the end in the comic book expect no tank which sucks. Yet, I think the Governor will live.

It shouldn't have taken this long for Rick to realize the Michonne bargain was:
a) a lie; and
b) Not What We Do.

The more Michonne talks, the more I like her. She's no longer a silent guardian, a watchful protector, a dark knight. She's interacting, and she alone may have salvaged Merle.

My heart breaks for Daryl, and that last scene gave us more emotion from him than we've ever seen. He had the time to grow into a true team member that Daryl didn't. He survived a gunshot from Andrea, an arrow to the belly, his Merle complex, and the failure to find Sophia. Carol is gonna get him through this, and now I'm thinking everyone gets to wound the Governor before throwing him into a herd of walkers.

This season we've seen the Governor lose Penny, Rick lose Lori, Allen lose Ben (last night), and Daryl lose Merle. Family is getting hit hard, which doesn't bode well for House Herschel. It's too easy to kill Beth, and too obvious to kill daddy. Maggie or Glen then.

I am fine and dandy with Lori acting as Rick's moral barometer. When she pops up, he's going down the wrong path. If he has to externalize his conscience to get things done, well, at least he still has a conscience.

The Walking Dead seems to always make you feel bad for people you hate when they kill them off. Lori and now Merle. No satisfaction for their deaths. They will probably do the same if they decide to kill off Andrea.

Well, if they kill off Herschel less money for CGI-ing his leg.

I figure they use the old "bend your leg" trick for most of Herschel's scenes.

Michonne is about 500% more likable since she started talking.

Manly tears for the reveal of Merle's fate to Daryl. Goddamit Walking Dead I was starting to really like that old redneck this season.

I have no real evidence of this but I have the strangest feeling that Rick dies this season. I've been thinking this since he started talking to the dead on the old telephone.

Michonne is a cat isn't she? I like how whenever she approaches the prison gate alone she just kinda calmly meanders past Walkers and waits to be let in.

I'd be fine with a good cast cleaning episode. Team Rick getting thinned out and then finding a group of better actors would do a lot for me. I think that is wishful thinking, but if we could move on from this feud I would be more than happy with that.

Tyrese has been a totally wasted character up until this point. *Wildcard* It's his time to shine!

Yea they definitely went to the Joss Whedon School of Killing Cast Members.

I'm not sure what to think of this season yet. The pacing seemed much better this year than last with the farm taking about 6 years to get through, although last week's episode couldn't have been more of a "Oh shit, we forgot to write an episode for this week! Quick, write 45 minutes of filler!" if they tried.

Looks like next week should be all action. I can't see anyone from the Governor's side surviving really, and probably only 1/2 of Rick's team. It almost seems like there's not going to be enough time in the episode to finish Andrea's torture, Milton's rebelling, Daryl's revenge, and everything else going on while getting in a bunch of promised action. I almost have to believe the Governor and Woodbury won't truly be gone at the end of this season.

Michael Rooker gives a really good exit interview. (insidetv.ew.com) I kind of suspected he didn't enjoy wearing Merle's prosthetic arm...

I watched the entire Talking Dead this week for the first time, and I was very impressed with the credit The Governor gave multiple times to the crew. That's refreshing to hear.

If they go CSI on the walking dead, then Detroit is a no-brainer. We already have tax credits for movies and TV and like Moe said, we are already living in Mad Max times. Wanna blow up an entire city block? Sure!

I was really hoping that Merle would survive and be the kind of character that pops up out of nowhere every couple of seasons, but he went out with maybe the best death of anyone on this show so far. I don't think next week's kill count is going to be as high as most people do; in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if we only lost one of the regulars. My biggest concern is that the Governor's death is handled in a more satisfying way than it was in the comics.

This was a fantastic episode because of the last five minutes. Daryl's emotion made that scene perfect. As far as the Season Finale. I've heard that 27 humans are going to die, now granted a lot of those could be no-name Woodbury soldiers and I remember in the preview the Governor saying they killed eight of our men. So I guess we'll see.

This is going to be a busy TV viewing weekend.

Doctor Who returns on Saturday, TWD finale and new season of Game of Thrones at the same time on Sunday. This all while catching March Madness scores and Easter dinners.

Then next weekend is WM, more GoT and Mad Men returns and Final Four, too.
