The show felt really disjointed without a host. But hey, the Rev. Al Sharpton ruled it! Other than that and an awesome closing performance by Outkast it was a pretty color by numbers award show. It was nice to see a concious effort to making voting seem cool. I wish they could've dropped the fake bipartisan stuff and flat-out explained to people why they need to vote for John Kerry, but whatever.

Back in the day, it really used to be an "ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN HERE" type of show. I never ever cared about who won what, I was all about watching cool performances, checking out the wacky outfits, and waiting for someone to do or say something crazy. Not so much of any of that anymore for either show really.
