Ahhh, I love a good Krusty-centered plot. And yes, I'm aware that they've done the "Krusty gets fired" bit WAY too many times to the point that it's just dull, but screw it, I still love Krusty.

So yeah, I liked this plot a lot. Joan Rivers made a good agent/love interest and I loved the all-too-brief cameo from Krusty's father.

Just one thing...didn't Krusty get married back on the 450th episode? I realize they couldn't get Anne Hathaway back, but did they have to scrap the character completely and act like she never existed?

Annie: Trust with me is like a candle. When you blow it out, it's gone for good.
Krusty: What about a comedy candle? You know, it re-lights itself?
Annie: I don't find those funny, just...frustrating.
Bart: They're pretty funny. Once, I used one on Milhouse. He was wishing for his parents to get back together, but the flame never went out.

Loved it too. Krusty is head and shoulders my favorite Simpsons supporting character.

Joan Rivers is one of the best guest voices The Simpsons has ever had. She was great. She goes in the Hall of Fame along with The Who, Mel Gibson, Michael Jackson, Dustin Hoffman, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Alec Baldwin, Ron Howard, etc.

Loved the opening jokes about the year-old movie parodies talking so long to be animated it makes them seem dated. And the HBOWTIME shows, especially Game of Thrones animated and The Ricky Gervais Show exactly how it is.

Plus Herschel doing stand up in the 1960s.

Another winner in the string this season.

Wasn't Janeane Garofalo also in a previous Krusty Gets Fired ep? She's in the "Don't you hate pants"/Jay Leno gives Krusty a bath episode!

I totally forgot about Krusty getting married last season.

Note that it was also co-written by Dan Castelanetta.

I know talking about The Simpsons and continuity is pointless anymore, but I feel like Krusty is the character whose continuity is kept the least. Still, he too is one of my favorite supporting characters and Krusty episodes are usually good ones. He's just a fun character. This one I liked too, especially the shots at premium TV.
