Who is going to leave the building with the strap at the end of the tournament?

Those entered are:

Bruce Hart
TJ Wilson
Dave Swift
Apocalypse
Harry Smith
Marky Starr
Patrick Meyers
Randy Meyers
Ricco Barzini
Jason Carter
''Kwik Kick'' Kirk Melnick

I think we can scratch Randy, Pat, Marky, and Jason right away for being too green.

Say bye-bye to Ricco for not being over.

... cut TJ because he's going to Japan shortly.

And I think that Kwik Kick and Bruce are getting past his prime to start a new big push.

So that leaves

Dave Swift
Apocalypse
Harry Smith

And out of those three, ... I'll have to place my bet on Harry getting the belt. Mainly because the Tag-Champs are heels, and it's never really a good idea to only have heels with belts.

Whatever the outcome, it should be a great tournament, and should provide a couple of great shows.

But hey, how do you run a tournament with 11 people? Maybe there'll be a suprise new entry... or maybe Pat will get scratched from the card for his language at the last show, and one of the matches will go to a draw. Hm...

Bruce is way out, unless he is an egomaniac. He's the booker! I'd have to pick Melnick or Harry Smith. It would make sense to put the belt on Smith as a tribute to his dad.

Bruce is still wrestling, which is amazing on the face of it. He could barely string together three moves during his heyday, I gotta wonder why he is still in the ring. According to Billington's book, Bruce thinks of himself as a visionary with original ideas. Kind of the saviour of Stampede. So, is Bruce the Antonio Inoki of Stampede?

Well, after listening to Bruce for probably over an hour in combined trips home in his car, I have to say that he definently knows how the business runs. I can't say if his ideas are revolutionary, per say, but he understands how to get the fans to enjoy it. He's COMPLETELY agaisnt Vince's direction, which is a god-send, and really likes old school story lines that the average Joe can sit down, and enjoy with his family.

And I tell you, after last Monday's HLA and Smackdown's wedding, I don't know how many average Joe's want to sit down with their family watching WWE anymore.

A sad, sad thought:

I've lived here in Calgary for almost a year, and I've yet hit a Stampede Wrestling show.

Can anyone tell me more about the shows? Where do they perform? how much does it cost to attend? Do they always hit the legion hall in Ogden?

Questions, questions...I'd like to attend a show sometime before I move next month to Edmonton.

A quick stampede story. Well, sort of...

Oh yeah...and if there's someone who wrestles there by the name of something Magnum or Magnum something, I worked with him once, moving furniture for someone. he and I talked wrestling for a bit, and he was cool. It was quite intimidating, talking to a real live pro wrestler. We talked about finishers, and I told him about what a great finishing move would be: A perfect/hennig/cradle suplex off the top rope...

Anyhow, I've said enough...
