So I just switched to Direct TV. And this is not a paid advertisement. Here's the deal: I saw last December (2003, that is) that I could get my local channels on Dish Network. Being from the boondocks, I was jazzed about this, so I called the company. They said they would send a technician to my house in freakin' APRIL because they were backlogged. I said okay, and decided to patiently wait. As of noon today, January 3, 2005, I still have not seen an installer at my door. Nor have I receive a phone call. I can't believe I was this patient with them. With Direct TV, I had to agree to the $50 per month package for a year. I get three free receivers, a free installation, a free DVD player, and my three year old will finally have Disney Channel in his room. It was a great deal for me. Plus, I'll get Animal Planet and National Geographic. Yes, I'm a huge nerd. There is no VH1, but who the heck cares? I get FUSE instead.

Interesting enough looking playlist(s), but the way *I* remember VH1 back in the day, there was nothing classic about it at all. Talk about bland music. Didn't they used to market it as MTV for an older generation? Or maybe that was just my take on it. Either way, I'll take today's VH-1 (complete with Behind the Music and the I Love series) over old/Classic VH-1 any day.

That was before they started doing specials about how much Paris Hilton spends on her dogs, and how much various celebrities spend on useless shit. Now it seems as though the network wants to MAKE me feel bad for not being able to spend fifty thousand dollars on lingerie like Britney Spears. God, I hate VH1. I'm so young that I can't even complain about MTV formerly being about music videos, because even THAT'S so long ago that I can't remember.

VH-1 Classic does not play videos from VH-1 of yesteryear. They play videos that most likely were never shown on television. I would venture a guess that 50% of the videos I see on VH-1 Classic I hadn't seen before I saw them on that station.
PS - Frosty, don't be such a hater. You should respect your elders, young lad.
