And that final shot... flawless.
This show continues its streak of Hit or Miss, usually with the misses of a greater magnitude than the hits, but Lexmas REALLY HIT.

| #2 Posted on 9.12.05 2345.26 Reposted on: 9.12.12 2345.51 | | I really liked this episode too and that's pretty rare I think this show has been pretty bad the past two season (atleast). I actually like Tom Welling a lot and obviously he's on the show a lot because he's the main character, but it was actually nice to see an episode not about him, especially when it was about the best character, Lex, instead. Still I probably will never like the show on a regular basis again until both Chloe and Lana are gone, which will probably be never. | Kei Posiskunk

| #3 Posted on 10.12.05 0221.38 Reposted on: 10.12.12 0221.59 | I think the fact that the "alternate universe" in Lex's head hinted at the idea of Clark and Chloe as a couple is the death knell for Chloe, actually. If they're still running the "Someone has to die so that Clark could come back from being shot" angle, it just made it pretty clear. A lot of fans had been begging for Clark and Chloe to be paired, to the point of hoping that it would be Lois who died, and Chloe taking that as her name at the Planet in Lois' honor, and I think now that the creators have given fans that little tease, they can relatively safely kill off Chloe in spite of her popularity.
But I agree that Lana has to go. | Cerebus

And in some interesting news, last season we were entertained with Bart Allen/The Flash and this season we've gotten Aquaman and Brainiac, but it's not over yet. Later this season, the Cyborg from the Teen Titans make his first ever live action appearance, EVER!
Cool!

| #10 Posted on 13.12.05 2142.15 Reposted on: 13.12.12 2143.35 | Actually, Mxyzptlk has already made an appearance, as a Russian teenager with the ability to manipulate luck (which he uses to make money through running gambling rings). Chloe sort of took an interest in him, and he (of course, since this is Smallville) ended up trying to kill her.

Doomsday sucked.
Mxy doesn't qualify as a legitmate villain since half the time he's just dicking around.
Bizzaro also doesn't qualify as a real villain because he's...well, he's Bizzaro.
Other than Lex Luthor, there are three Superman villains that matter. Zod, Brainiac, and Darkseid.
And maybe Metallo. | Cerebus

What? Are you crazy? Did you NOT read SUPERMAN/DOOMSDAY: HUNTER/PREY or OUR WORLDS AT WAR? Get from under that rock and go read those, especially S/D:H/P because that was quite awesome.

Metallo would be cool, but Clark needs to get to Metropolis first.
This does bring up a good question though. As iconic a character as Superman is, how can he have so few 'arch nemesis's'? Isn't a hero only as good as his villain? (See Batman, Spider-Man, Flash.)

Ok, later Doomsday didn't suck. I admit it.
And yeah, Superman kinda has a limited rogues gallery when you think about it. They ended up having to create a number of villains for the animated series back in the day in order to avoid the same villains day in and day out. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
