I'll miss our Japanese Buzz Saw. I'm glad to say I will at least get to be there live at the TD Banknorth Garden for Tajiri's final RAW. (If he actually gets to wrestle on the show.)

Boy, they just keep leaving, don't they?

WWE, Tajiri reach agreement on release
December 8, 2005

WWE and Tajiri have reached an agreement on his release. Monday Night RAW in Boston on Dec. 12, 2005, will be Tajiri’s final appearance. Tajiri has decided to go back to his native Japan to work on writing a book. In addition, Tajiri plans to write news columns upon his return. WWE wishes Tajiri the best in all his future endeavors.

Yeah, just read that a couple seconds ago. Good to see that at least it looks like he wanted to go home instead of being canned.

Really (and unfortunately), his time was done in the WWE a long time ago, but hopefully off-time is good to him. With any luck he'll get one last match (at least for Heat) before he's gone.

I think his job to Triple H was likely his last. But that's just speculation. There'd be nothing to gain for anyone to beat him one more time.

I thought Tajiri had just reached a new contract agreement like 2 weeks ago?

Well if he does return to Japan I look forward to him joining RO&D

Wait a minute. On Monday, Tajiri appears in a scripted sketch in which he complains that he used to be a big star but WWE has totally jobbed him out. (Later, on the same show, he ... gets totally jobbed out.) On Thursday, he asks for his release. Did WWE's writers make Tajiri realize how much his career sucks?

Well, the Tajiri story is not available anymore on their website and his bio is still up. That's weird.

This wouldn't be the first time that WWE.com puts up a story online that the front office wanted them to wait on. They will throw it back up "officially" after RAW Monday or Tuesday.

Another guy who WWE has been misusing for some time now (hey, why didn't they put the exclamation-point on his teaming with Rhyno by having them defeat La Resistance for the World Tag Team Title awhile back?), and another guy who could contribute very well to any federation he decides he wants to be a part of.

After he's done taking some time off to write a book, you know I'd love to see him in TNA now that I'm going out of my way to see iMPACT! every week because of Christian.

[sigh...] There goes my reason to watch RAW. Or Heat for that matter. Good luck to him, no matter where he ends up in life. He will be missed; especially by me. (Nothing like waking up and finding out your favorite wrestler is quitting. If that is a sign of how your day is going to go, I don't know what is. I think I'll go back to bed before, say, a tree falls on me or something.)

Book writing, Hmm...? I read that, and it kinda begs the question of what he possibly would be writing about. Hopefully, he doesn't burn any bridges. I don't see him doing that though. If he decides to wrestle again, and IF it is for a company in the US, I see him back in the WWE again.

p.s. Did the WWE ever put out a Japanese language biography of him? If so, has any of you W's ever read it? Thanks!

Edit: No trees, but the repair-people made our house smell like burning oil and industrial acid wash. Hooray!!

Tajiri just recently became a father as well. Not being able to see his newborn child because of travel probably played into the deicision.

Plus I've heard that his wife has been unable to get a driver's license here in the US. Which obviously presents some difficulties since he's gone most of the time.

Well, ain't that a kick in the head.

I was impressed with how Tajiri could be funny and so credibly violent at the same time. He's got some great wrestling moves that will always feel like his alone.

I doubt he'll stay retired for long. I bet Muto and TAKA are both set to court him once his 90 days are up. Hell Lyger used to be really high on Tajiri, maybe he still is.

I'll miss seeing him around, because I was about as big a fan of his as you'll find, but I can't ever fault a man for wanting to go home.

Zanen.

He's not huge, but he's bigger than most of the Japanese guys they've had and still pulls off some awesome cruiserweight moves. People got behind him, the mist is unique as far as your average WWF fan goes...

I think he's the only Japanese they could've credibly turned into the world champion. Sadly his pushes ran hot and cold, though you'll notice as soon as he came to Raw he was credibly in the main events.

He never recovered from Kane no selling the mist though...

And TNA has enough of a logjam with only an hour of TV.

So I hope he enjoys retirement.

And now Yoshi Tatsu has completed 4/5ths of the WWF Japanese Guy Journey Experience.

I still miss Tajiri and I still think he was a huge missed opportunity for them.

Well, atleast now he can perform in 30 minute matches, even if in front of 250 people.
