Houston is starting to look like a pretty formidable team. Plus many of us have the added benefit of seeing George's face rubbed in the dirt once again. Life is good.

Gee, Clemens going against his word. What a shock. Now the real fun of it all: Ro-Ger having to bat in National League ballparks all season.

Well, I guess there was no way around this. I mean, losing Petitte could have been avoided, maybe if they just started negotiating with him before the season started (easy to say after the fact, I know).

And I was just arguing with a friend of mine about how he'd never come back, and now this. Thanks a lot, Roger!

Please God, the first time Florida plays Houston this season, let Josh Beckett nail this bastard in the skull.

So Jimy Williams let him wear number 22? I wonder what number the manager will switch to?

Only after the Mets get through with him. Now they have more chances to miss when they throw at him!

Hey, I'd be pissed if I were a Yankee fan too. As a Marlin fan, I'm pissed we gave him a standing ovation after his "last" inning for nothing.

I heard that same silly comment about A-Rod. Talk about your flawed logic. Clemens could've played for a handful of teams for $10 million, but instead choose to play for Houston for $5 mil (< money). His primary motivation obviously isn't $. He wants to play in his hometown with his good friend, Andy Pettite.

Now that he is in Houston, they finally have the pitching to get past the first round of the playoffs.

Josh Beckett is also a huge fan of Clemens, he would never go after him. Clemens also strikes down the silly criticism that he is a coward for not pitching in the NL. Now all the NL crybabies with their mediocre hitters (Mets) can take their shots at him.

This isn't Mick Foley coming out of a 4 year retirement to face Randy Orton in a midcard match. This is more like Foley coming out of a month and a half retirement to be in the main event of Wrestlemania.

I think Clemens will have a good year in Houston. It's a good signing by the Astros.

The problem with posting all this is that people who live outside of New York might start to think that the Post and the Daily News are real newspapers.

So the man wants to go pitch at home for a year. What's wrong with that? He isn't exactly making lucrative money, either. I see a guy who wants to take one year to pitch for his hometown and help bring a World Series title home. If this was really about money, Roger could have held out for a lot more (don't try and tell me the Yankees wouldn't have shelled out more than what Houston offered). There's nothing traitorous about it. This just reeks of sour grapes from the New York fans.

Well, I am certainly not a Yankees fan, but what this reeks of is "disingenuousness." He kept saying he was retired, he's all done. He accepted gifts, farewell ovations and all the accolades for a Hall of Fame career (which he truly deserves). But what a lack of respect for his ex-teammates and coaches. Roger has always been a terrific pitcher and you can't take that away from him. As personified through the media (in his actions), he remains a buffoon.
