Fun stuff with Flair refusing to lay down. Hot crowd.

And we got a WHITE BOY CHALLENGE. Of course, Spike was watching that clock tick all the way down.

Top to bottom, not a bad show. All hail the new IC champ, mini-Test!

Another fun show on Raw. Right now, they are smoking Smackdown.

Austin/Bischoff have been hilarious to watch. Christian finally seems to be stepping out of the lackey role and into his own spotlight. Add in a quick one time Mae/Moohlah, some Teddy Long, and Flair actually getting over the top rope and actually HITTING a move and you've got a quality show for this fan.

Great show! Now if they would just get Flair along side someone who needs the rub! Perhaps La Resiatance? Or better yet, a young Face who needs to get over!

I'm surprised no one's mentioned it, although with bitter smarks being who they are....anyway, we're finally getting it. The feud. JERICHO/GREENBERG.

...and a Fashion Report, too.

KickWhamStunner, in black "Stonecold Inc." skull tshirt, jean shorts, and knee braces, gives us FOOTAGE! of Bisch vomiting - remember how well that went over last year? More FOOTAGE!, this time of Goldberg's valet job. He's gonna find out tonight? I bet not. Thhhor, in grey suit with black shirt (no tie), carrying the belt, with Whoo!, in lighter grey suit with white shirt (again no tie), is out. Steve's anger management classes have REALLY paid off. Book a match - like YOU didn't see it coming. But Flair lays down for no man. 15 minutes.

King and JR, in same as ever, commentate.

Samoan Jobbers, in jobber gear, already in the ring, with Rico, vs. Dudleys, in different "3D" tshirts - Bubba in black pants with white vertical stripes, DVon in blue/grey/white camo pants and black "3D" boots. Bubba, you dumbass, this is NOT a table match. Poor match - neither team gives me anything to care about. They are SUCH jobbers that Rico, in red shirt and black leather pants, resigns as their stylist. Yeah, but I remain the only Fashion Reporter.

Bisch, in black leather jacket, hungover, and Stone Cold chat. How the hell can Bisch STILL be hungover? I know - Steve's diabolical plan is to make Bisch into an alcoholic. Hey, guys, remember how this went over last year yet? Well it still sucks. Diesel, in black "BD" shield tshirt, stands there and Steve talks. Meanwhile, Thhhor and Whoo! discuss their evil plan. But Flair lays down for NO-ONE!

Yeah, Austin hasn't been doing much investigating about the whole Goldberg thing. Do you think he might be a liar?

Jericho, in black/turquoise "Jericho" shirt and gold silhoutte turquoise tights. Hey - they added a "Highlight" screen to the never-used set. Really, who ever sits on the chairs? Let's see some FOOTAGE! Christian, in black vest and semi-bellbottom blue jeans and glasses, with the belt over his shoulder (think a mix between DDP and Test) has a NEW, ugly haircut- short is bad. Yet more FOOTAGE!, via the Jericho-tron 5000. Now Robbie, in a NEW, blue crotch-eating dragon singlet, with the Tag belt over his shoulder (spinal comumn up the back of his singlet, "RVD" on the right and yingyang on the right). Ooo - Rob, that's some wit you have (not). This segment gets some more Kane, in arm-baring straps and spandex (is that ALL he has in his closet?). KickWhamStunner, ignoring the Goldberg investigation, books a match. Good, 'cuz it's been 50 minutes and we've only had one match so far.

Match is JIP'ed and everyone is in the same as before, except that Jericho is sans his shirt. Christian, eventually, takes his shirt off, showing his nice chest. BookerT, in white tshirt and blue jeans, interferes. Nice match, but it didn't feel like a championship match. Why would the challengers want to get DQ'ed? Why did the ref ring the bell before anything actually happened?

Shawn tries to turn Flair from the dark side, but we all know that (say it with me now) Flair won't lay down for anybody. Shawn believes in you, Ric.

So are they just gonna kill-off this mega-stupid Goldberg thing by a fan vote? Man, those writers ARE lazy.

Mack, in black sleeveless hooded sweatshirt, with Teddy, in black checker-striped coat, white shirt (no tie) and blue pants - yep, plain blue pants. Those pants are just wrong- they make Baby Jesus cry. Oh - Spike, in black "3D" tshirt and orange/yellow camo pants vs. Mack, in silver "Back the Mack" undies. Y'know, most of the jobbers were bigger than Spike. Ha - Spike ducked! Boo - Spike taps out at 4:59.

Stevie has fun at Bisch's expense. This is crap. Of course, Mae and Moolah - whoever DIDN'T have them in the pool should be kicked...hard.

Flair poses, dances, and "Whoo!"s.

Frenchies, from "Paris France", in black berets and tights with yellow trim and red/white/blue sashes, vs. Test, in silver undies and SPP, in chainmail and black "Freakzilla" tight, with Stacie. If you paid to see this yesterday you're 1) very stupid and 2) a sucker. Bad match - SPP is too dumb to even get tagged in. Then the non-French play Tug-of-Stacie. She says "Screws to you - I'm going lesbian." and they play HER music.

At 9:35 Austin FINALLY "investigates". Austin wants to make Lance Storm talk? But that'll only kill the crowd heat. Lance? Oh lame. But the mastermind remains to be revealed. Ooo! Meanwhile, H tries to read, but Flair wants to use the time to turn face.

Goldberg, in black full cuts with white trim and barbwire butt, vs. Lance, in red undies. I predict a squash. In 1:03 I'm right, although most of that time was spent milking the "Goldberg" chants. Post-match, and interrogation. He names names! Well, Jericho, you'll be jobbing next.

Whoo!, in blue/silver "Nature Boy" robe, and black undies thereunder, and black "RF" boots, vs. Thhhor, in purple iron-cross undies and purple boots, wearing the belt, very taped up, with FOOTAGE! Flair goes to the top and HE HITS IT! Aw crap - a good match, but I was SO thinking Flair coulda done it. Then Diesel...um...walks to the ring. And Steve books a match.

Overall: A good show. Good action the second hour, and even the lack of wrestling in the first hour was okay 'cuz the other stuff was actually okay. Well, except the vomit stuff. And the whole whodunnit storyline.

Edit: The Great Thomas, I've got you covered.

I'd be more excited about Jericho/Goldberg if I thought Jericho had a shot in hell.

Stone Cold should open up every show. He reminds me of when Foley was commish, bringing the right amount of humor and gravity. Instead of trying to beat the shit out of Bischoff at every opportunity, he's making fun of him. I like that better.

Thank god the Road Warriors are gone. Thank you, God, for calling home your newly devout servants, Hawk and Animal, to Florida or wherever they reside.

Speaking of true believers, I think Brother Shawn's next feud should be with the Ivory Tower Liberal Chris Nowinski. Moral absolutionist vs Moral relativist.

Not a bad show...

Teddy Long = Gold
Black Out...heh
Rodney Mack sold that shoulder like a champ.

So much for a slow burn...

Jericho Vs. Greenberg

Being a Jerichoholic I'm a bit disappointed that they are feeding him to Berg so early, hopefully they'll draw it out and it will make Summerslam. Maybe Jericho will win with a front facelock.

For all of his faults...HHH can sell with the best of them when he wants to, that was the most painful figure-4 I've seen in a long time.

My 2 Cents,

TheGeek

Good show tonight.

Austin stopping the blowhole spit was fun. It did always kind of bother me when he'd do that for promos.

SINGLES PUSH FOR RICO~!!!!! Ok, probably not, but I can dream. Hopefully the WWE is realizing what a talent he could be.

Teddy Long is awesome. He managed to keep me completely entertained during the White Boy Challenge, despite the fact that Rodney Mack was wrestling.

Having the Hi-Lite Reel segue into some wrestling was nice. Also, more RVD mic work! RVD is so much more entertaining on the mic than people give him credit for. It was kinda funny when JR was talking about JeriChristian like they never had tagged before. I really wish that there could have been a finish, but no one coud have afforded to lose in that match. Too bad RVD and Kane are probably going on to feud with the Frenchies.

The Flair turn was done in a logical enough manner, and it was nice to see the WWE slowly build to it throughout the night. HHH earns goodwill this week for letting Flair hit something from the top. The match was decent, although the finish was kinda anticlimactic. Both guys did turn it up.

Hey we want to cut down on injuries, so what do we do? Book a ladder match and then book a HIAC, of course.

On another note, why is it in all of HHH feud's it always becomes "How will HHH beat (wrestler)?)" I mean, Nash Booker, Steiner, HBK all got the drop on him before he pinned them all. Shouldn't a feud be about the face overcoming the heel, rather than the heel overcoming the face?

the first hour I could have done without, too much talking and not enough wrestling.

Note, Jericho's show has changed it's name from "The Hi-Lite Reel" to "Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel".

Christian new haircut looks good, it looks like he and test have the same barber.

The WWE poll was kinda dumb, I voted for Rodney Mack

Good tag title match, RVD & Kane get a little better as a team each week.

From "Tazmission" to "Blackout" the Katehajime... Katihagemay... Katehadgeamai... WHATEVER... the move shouldn't be Mack's finisher!

Lance Storm hit Goldberg because Jericho told him to. Thanks for comming out, Lance, go back to mid-card Hell untill we need another stone-faced Canadian to beat up on.

Flair vs. HHH was surprisingly good. I'm glad to know that Flair can still carry a match that well. Wooo!!!

The road to "Stone Cold Steve Austin presents: Bad Blood" starts off luke warm, let's hope it heats to a nice boil in time.

Matt Tracker, your avatar is causing a login prompt to edit.metrobeat.net when entering this page.

I’ll give them credit for building up the idea that Flair could actually win…with the crowd anyway. Has a crowd been that into Flair in the past ten years?

Poor Lance is going to have one heck of a receding hairline in a year or two, isn’t he. Man…bad lighting…squashed like a Georgia Championship Wrestling jobber…What did Lance do to deserve this.

…So let’s get this straight…Jericho’s show opens to congratulate Christian, which somehow leads to a tag match for the belts, which somehow leads to a Booker T run-in, which brings us full-circle to a Booker T-Christian feud. You know, I’m not sure that all made sense, but the end result is an actual match worth looking forward to!

Jericho’s new set is actually pretty nice looking, and you KNOW the Jerichotron is going DOWN baby. DOWN.

Exactly how drunk was Christian when somebody convinced him that the key to success was to look more like Test?

Congratulations Rico! Worst “I Quit” promo EVER.

Why is Theodore Long complaining about slow counts when it was HIS guy benefiting from them?

I thought most of the Austin stuff just sucked, especially with Bischoff.

Oooh! So now we get to watch HHH and Nash plod around in a cage! Imagine my excitement.

I like the idea of a Jericho/Goldberg feud just because it means Jericho gets to be a high profile ass for the next month. That should rule.

Didn't take notes this week, didn't know this was going to come back so soon. But, here are my thoughts.

1) Austin/Bischoff as GM's...maybe more of a comedy team. Throwing up on his own picture...well, he's got a lot more around the office.

2) Rico leaves 3MW, who is going up, and who is going down between the 3.

3) Christian becomes a Billy Gunn clone. OK. Tag match was good.

4) Dudley/Mack...at least they had someone we know as the opponent. A "Gimme a break" award to tapping with :01 left.

5) More Austin/Bischoff hijinks...need women, need 2, my dad was thinking BBW's, I thought otherwise...of course, this is the WWE, so we were both wrong. Moolah & Mae Young, I just want you two to get off my screen forever!!!

6) Stacy leaves both Steiner/Test after match against French guys. Just like I said last week, I'm available!!! Or maybe join up w/Rico, he needs someone after earlier tonight.

7) Goldberg/Storm...squash match, just like in WCW. Funny part for me is Jericho leaving the arena, in his wrestling gear.

8) Flair/HHH match was very good. The Flair Flip to perfection. The flip, the run, the going to the top, and hitting the axe handle. He was at his best, but oh so close. Just to have Nash/HHH 2 in the cell. Didn't watch the first, so why would I watch a second.

I'll be back on Thursday.

The Katahajime is a half nelson choke (and a legitimate judo hold), while the cobra clutch is a half nelson sleeper (same idea, only done while holding the victims hand THUS allowing more slack).

Oh, and Raw was okay. It lacked Goldust and the Hurricane, whom I like, but otherwise no complaints. Highlight Reel into wrestling was cool, too bad somebody (Goldberg?) is going to smash that damn expensive TV eventually.

Oh, and they really shouldn't give Lawler and JR so much drugs before the show. They got excited over and were interested in Kevin Nash for God's sake. I think it's a call for help. (This has been your Kevin Nash Knock of the Night.)

I agree with most of the "Flair is Awesome, Jericho rules, Austin/Bischoff is hilarious, this show is good" sentiments. I was wrong about the co-manager thing. I thought it would suck, but Austin is just so damned funny with it, I can't help but enjoy it.

Just some stuff to add:

Anyone notice how Triple H pounded home the fact that Nash "kicked his ass all over the arena." I honestly can't remember him verbally putting anyone over since being handed the Raw Title. Of course, we all know why this is, but I just thought it was a neat little point. I'm still betting on Nash getting the belt sooner or later. Triple H owes Nash exactly one job.

They need to turn Christian into a total pussy ala Honky Tonk because the Leo DiCaprio physique just isn't convincing in the ring. Apparently, singlets add 20 lbs.
