| #2 Posted on 4.1.02 0011.52 Reposted on: 4.1.09 0017.07 | I wrote a little cgi script to return a random number, then I renamed all my Pokmon icons "001" to "251".
The link is http://imagen.slashwrestling.com/pokemon/new/random.cgi but if you click on it, you end up with a replacement of /026.gif or some other random number.
Basically, you need to be running your own server but if you have the ability to store cgi scripts from your provider, I could share my script with you - it's really simple and easily modified if you don't feel like renaming your pool of graphics files.

How much disk space would you need?
On second thought, just send me an email. ;-)

Any chance we poor non-FoZ (Friend of Zim) types could get our grubby little hands on this? Sounds like a nice "intro to CGI" program as well as a good trick for the boards. (Yes, got my own CGI-capable space.) In any case, thanks; at worst I have an idea to play with.

| #7 Posted on 4.1.02 0414.17 Reposted on: 4.1.09 0438.46 | It's just a simple (UNIX) shell script:
#!/bin/sh echo Location: http://imagen.CRZ.net/pokemon/`echo . | /usr/local/bin/gawk 'sran d ( ) {print 1 + int(rand() * 150)}' | awk '{printf ("%03d",$1)}'`.gif echo echo
You could also use an `ls *.gif *.jpg | head -rand | tail -1` to get a random filename if you weren't into using file numbers, or something clever like that.

So, uh...I guess this is the point where I beg for the Z-Man to make a cgi for my pics.
So uh... *puppy dog eyes* pweeeease?

| #9 Posted on 5.1.02 1514.52 Reposted on: 5.1.09 1516.11 | Hey, CRZ, how theortically feasible would it be for me to, say, every few weeks or so, as I steal...*cough*...gather more bitchin avatars (Gotta plagarize them all!), that I send you an edited cgi script and the new pics? of coure, you'd have to let me in in the secrets of scripting. (You stomp with the punch, Al, and...)
