ESPN - Holmes retires, ending brief NFL comeback
Four-time Pro Bowl tailback Priest Holmes, who returned to the field with the Kansas City Chiefs last month following nearly two years of inactivity, has decided to leave the game, and announced his retirement at a Wednesday afternoon news conference.
Had his single-season TD record stood, he'd be a sure Hall of Famer. Tomlinson shattering the record in such a short amount of time, however, probably leaves Holmes destined to stay on the outside looking in.
Still, gotta admire him for at least attempting a comeback this year. Promote this thread! | | MisterHenderson

I haven't been to too many NFL games, but that one will always stand out for me. A game against the Jets in 2002 he ran for 152 yards and a TD. He also caught the ball for nearly 100 yards and another score as well. He was on top of his game there. | dMr

A fine back to be sure, and sad to see his career cut short by injury, but a Hall of Famer he ain't. | Bullitt
