I was in the car today without my XM SkyFi, and stumbled upon the Dan Patrick show on the radio. I heard that Keith Olbermann was going to be back with Patrick on a regular basis on DP's radio show. This is the first thing the 4-letter has gotten right in a while, and they couldn't have gotten this more right. Olbermann was the best SportsCenter ever had and the combination of the two was television the likes of which hasn't been seen since.

If this is true, then I am stoked. SportsCenter was never better with Olbermann and patrick. It was must see TV that ESPN has not seen since. Those two clicked better than nay other pair. It has not been the same since they split.

Well, it will begin in August, and will only be for one hour on Fridays (2 PM Eastern hour).

I agree that it should make the show interesting. Here's to hoping that it leads to more Olberman at ESPN.

The local station that used to broadcast the Dan Patrick Show no longers airs ESPN Radio. Did the network drop his show?

Am I misunderstanding your question? Your local radio station might have dropped ESPN Radio but Dan's show wasn't dropped by the network, as you can see on

Man, I've missed those two together. I'm shocked to hear that they're reuniting on ESPN radio and not somewhere else. I always remember, shortly after Olbermann left, when an "unnamed exec" with ESPN was asked about Olbermann possibly ever returning to ESPN and the exec said "Keith didn't burn his bridges here. He napalmed them."

Also, reminds me of his 5 questions visit with Craig Kilborn on his Comedy Central show when Kilby asked him "What is the most godforsaken place on this planet?" to which Olbermann replied, "Bristol, Connecticut"

I miss the old ESPN alums...

One of the few good moves ESPN Radio has been in years.

Patrick's show has been unlistenable since Dibble left.

I was hoping this also meant the return of Denis Horgan (who used to produce TK's radio show and now works on Countdown), but probably not.

I've only heard Patrick a couple times since Dibbs left, and it's amazing what an effect his presence was...especially since you have the void.

I don't really miss Dibble any longer. Patrick has plenty of good guests, so I don't really think about it any more. Olbermann will be a good shake-up, but one hour a week out of the fifteen hours that Patrick is on the air won't be much more than a long guest spot. I still eagerly await their interaction once again though.

Pieman and DJFrostyFreeze are the only two people I have heard on all the boards that I read who have said that the don't mind DP now. I have completely stopped listening to DP now. There are so many other good things to listen to, that I have tuned him out completely. The replay of Czabe is more fun to listen to for sports talk.

I've stopped listening to DP, but that's more because I haven't been waking up until his show is over lately.
