I have the least possible thoughts imaginable about the first 30 minutes of the show. Or that title. Nothing to say at all. Nooooo. Nope.
The writers on this show have a different feeling for cute lines than I. Every scene where Peter MacNicol and the guy from Counter Terrorism (who probably is part of a Unit, and based out of LA) interacted, I was just dying for a "the worst part about going into space was all those useless anti-terrorism guys (and also the president)" or just perhaps a random question about how Jack was doing. No 24 jokes for me, at least that I caught, but they end the season with Alan actually saying "I guess this is To Be Continued", perhaps the most hokiest line in the history of acting and totally meant to be. So weird.
You think they could've wedged in one scene where Don actually said goodbye to Megan, but everything else with her departure was done fine, I guess. The scene with Megan and Larry on the bench in the park was their closest approach to actual chemistry. They never really seemed like an actual couple, but I suppose they were never meant to be a normal one. I don't know if they just have Liz rejoin the staff (they could not have made it clear that she'll be back and with Colby sometime next season) with someone else added to the cast part time to maintain gender balance, or if they'll just look at the list of rejected young females for CSI's cast opening and used one of them as a full time profiler replacement. They'll be fine either way.
I think this was a better season than last, I guess, but I can never really remember these things in total by May. I'm kinda impressing myself by still recalling the season opener, but then it's not every show that features someone being revealed as a triple agent.
