| #1 Posted on 9.10.03 1114.30 Reposted on: 9.10.10 1115.52 | I'm trying to put together a CD, and this is one of the only forums I check out, so I'm here asking for suggestions to add to this playlist:
Rage Against the Machine - Killing In the Name Of Filter - Hey Man Nice Shot Korn - Blind Pantera - Walk Sevendust - Black Disturbed - Down With the Sickness Nine Inch Nails - Wish or March of the Pigs Marilyn Manson - The Beautiful People Stabbing Westward - Shame
I guess I'm look for some heavy rock-or-industrial type stuff. I'm thinking of putting in Metallica, Tool, Godsmack, and Alice In Chains, but I can't decide what songs. Also, Beastie Boys' Sabotage might go in; it sounds cool, but it's not really heavy.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

And I might suggest Vote with a Bullet by Corrosion of Conformity. I'm not really into the newer "metal" bands out there, so I can't suggest many of them to you. Also, look up Clutch and get the song A Shogun Named Marcus. | Scott Summets

If you want actual titles by them, I can give you some as well. Exodus is also good stuff. More Sevendust is always good. If your going for new metal that actually kicks ass, Zakk Wylde is your answer. Black Label Society rocks, as does Zakk's other side projects. Black Label Society must be doing something good to debut at 50 in the Billboard 200 without being mentioned once by MTV or really any mainstream press* (not including guitar magazines which pimp Zakk since he kicks total ass at guitar). Another band that is relatively unknown but rocks hard is Sick Speed. | Pike

| #5 Posted on 9.10.03 2057.41 Reposted on: 9.10.10 2059.01 | I was going to put Tool's "Aenima" on the CD, and possibly Deftones' "My Own Summer" but I forgot to mention it in my first post.
As for Metallica, I'm choosing between "Master of Puppets," "Enter Sandman," and "Frantic." I remember some Megadeth songs, like "Symphony of Destruction" & "Trust" but I like the internal dialogue(or is it monologue?)of "Sweating Bullets." And Black Label Society's "Stillborn" with Ozzy Osbourne is cool - it sounds a lot like Chris Benoit's music, the "Chris-Benoit-is-here-and-he's-really-mad" guitar part.
Anthrax "Bring the Noize"- is that with Public Enemy? I think I remember that. I have to admit that I've only heard of Slayer by name, though.
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll be checking them out. I I'm looking for stuff with an angry or crazy vibe, like the Rage or Disturbed songs, respectively. | astrobstrd

| #10 Posted on 10.10.03 0047.02 Reposted on: 10.10.10 0047.41 | "Do You Call My Name?" by RA seems like it could fit your play list. if you want something that sounds like a cross between Godsmack and Disturbed with a lead singer that sounds abit like the guy from Sevendust, this is a good track.
Even though you have already have a Filter song on there, i'd suggest "So I Quit" (once you hear the intro of this song, you know it can't do any wrong).
some other random selections: "Engine No. 9" - Deftones "Sonne" (Marilyn Manson Remix) - Rammstein "Loco" - Coal Chamber "Black 7" - Soil "Bullet" - Injected
There's also a cover of "Bring the Noize" by Staind and Fred Durst but Fred is barely on the track. He's mostly in the background of this song. It's a little weird hearing Aaron Lewis rap.

Well, since it's a compilation of bands I just threw out a few favourites (but somehow left out New World Order!).
For a Ministry compilation, Stigamata and The Missing are essential. Psalm 69 is by far their best album though, IMO.
As for NIN, Dead Souls and Burn are two great overlooked ones. And anything off Pretty Hate Machine is good. | Toast Jr
