The Knicks just did a one for one swap of Jamal Crawford for Al Harrington! Click Here (sports.espn.go.com)

Boy oh boy am I a happy camper right now. Not only do the Knicks clear cap space in 2010, but they get a player now that can help the team, and fits perfectly into the up tempo style. A style that they look halfway deceant at playing three-quarters of the time.

Crawford is a nice player to have on a fantasy team, but that's about it. Gone are his crappy defensive ways, and his spotty three point shooting won't be missed since the Knicks have pleanty of marksmen from downtown.

Maybe by the end of the year Walsh will be able to use the Jedi Mindtrick and spin Curry into something.

They followed that deal up with another (nydailynews.com), trading Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins to the Clippers for Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley.

This is just a great day for the future of the New York Knicks. On one hand I am jacked, but on the other it means that we have a long two years to go now. It's quite possible that they could land two big names in 2010.

As of right now the Knicks are down by 21 in the 4th and Marbury has yet to get into the game. The Knicks only dressed 8 men today, but I like the fact that Dantoni is sticking to his guns on this one.

I'm thinking Tim Thomas might drive me batshit crazy though in the near future.

Well, the trade's official and Cuttino Mobley should be starting for the Knicks tonight while...sigh...the Clippers get Zach Randolph.

It was supposed to be so beautiful. The Clippers had so much cap space cleared. They could have feasibly made a run at LeBron (hey, humor me here) in 2010 and turned Los Angeles into Basketball Town USA with Kobe on the Lakers and LeBron on the Clips. But what happens? The Clips are bogged down with Chris Kaman, Marcus Camby, and Zach Randolph for the next god-knows-how-long and are in prime position to make a run at NOBODY in 2010.

Thanks, Mike Dunleavy, for successfully pulling off that trade for Zach Randolph and Isiah Thomas's old mantle as "Worst Executive in the NBA".

Even as a Knicks fan, I have to wonder why anyone would be willing to trade for any of the shit contracts that they have/had. Randolph is a nice enough player who does put up good numbers, but he's not exactly the answer to anyone's prayers. Crawford makes a little more sense, but as BigDaddy said, he's not a defensive wizard and his shooting and shot selection are sometimes maddening. Again, I don't know how he did it, but kudos to Walsh.

I still think that they could have gotten better players for Randolph and still cut payroll.

The Knicks played awful again today. I know I'm a Knicks fan and should expect this, but I actually miss Zach Randolph already and wouldn't mind seeing a little Eddy Curry just to have a down low guy in the post.

Add in the fact that there is now zero depth now that Nate Robinson is hurt, and Marbury refused to play the other night and is officially dead to the team.

This really blows if this is the plan for the next two years. I mean I get it, and it had to be done but it still sucks for today.
