They keep mentioning Orton being the youngest champion ever. Do they mean overall or WWE. I do remember Tommy Rich beating Harley Race when he was 18 or 19. Just curious

According to this Tommy Rich's birthday is July 26 1956 and he won the title on April 27 1981 (info) so was 24 and just over 9 months.

Randy Orton's birthday is April 1 1980 (see here) so if he wins on Sunday he will be 24 and about 4 and 1/2 months old.

Edit: Thanks Mild Mannered Madman Second edit: I suck at typing dates

According to this Tommy Rich's birthday is July 26 1959 and he won the title on April 27 1981 (info) so was 24 and just over 9 months.

Randy Orton's birthday is April 1 2000 (see here) so if he wins on Sunday he will be 24 and about 4 and 1/2 months old.

I think you mean 1980. Otherwise, he'd be the hugest 4 year old ever.

However, Orton's still too old to be the youngest World Champ. The Giant (now the Big Show, born February 8th, 1972) was 23 years,8 months, and 3 weeks old when he won the WCW World Title by Disqualification at Halloween Havoc '95 (10-29-95). He was stripped of the belt, but won it a second time on April 22nd 1996, when he was 24 years, 2 1/2 months old.

Where did you get his birthdate from? I ask because the site I use for birthdates and real names and such (here) gives his birthdate as Feb 8 1971.

On Tommy Rich: If he was born in the summer of '59, and won the NWA Title in the spring of '81, that makes him 21, not 24. Also, Kerry Von Erich was 24 years 3 months when he won the NWA Title from Flair in May of '84.

Arrggh, I'm the worst typist ever! The date was 1956 not 1959.

I think it's a moot point, as I'm pretty sure they're inferring that Orton will be the youngest WWE champion ever (especially considering the fact that they keep bringing up Brock Lesnar), rather than the youngest world champion ever period.
