According to this story at 1Wrestling.com, Tenta has been diagnosed with an incurable and cancerous lung tumor and given 13-18 months to live. He said he's fighting it and let's all hope he can make it through.

That sucks. Anyone who would alter their tattoo to fit more to their wrestling character has some real devotion to their craft. I hope the next year or so is as comfortable as possible for him.

Well just because they say it can't be cured doesn't mean it's set in stone.

Alot of people have been given months to live and they end up beating the cancer.

Hopefully John will be one of those people. With new drugs and treatments, nothing is incurable anymore.

That really is sad news. John Tenta always seemed like one of the more genuine people in the business.

Best of wishes to him. My thoughts are with him.

Cancer isn't cool...it killed my West Highland terrior. Yeah, it's a dog but still same thing kills people. I guess I remember ole John "Earthquake" Tenta from fueding with the Hulkster circa 1990.

Yet I have the Colosseum video where the Natural Disasters beat Money Inc. for the Tag straps. Then ole Quake was the one to pass out to put the straps back on Money Inc. at a Superstar taping or was it a house show?

Anyways, my thoughs to John "Earthquake" Tenta.

Cancer killed my Grandfather. So I really hate seeing it happen to others. Tenta was always a cool guy. All I can say from here is best of luck. I really hope he pulls through.

I was stunned to read the news about Earthquake, been one of the older generation I remember the impact he made in the WWF/E

I wish him comfort and peace in his battle and may his days be filled with friends and enemies coming together to help him with his biggest fight

I echo all the sentiments. I have lost a father, aunt, grandmother and both grandfather to cancer. From all I read and heard Tenta is a good guy. This is not preachy, but say a prayer for him and his folks.

It was at a Challenge taping in Regina, Saskatchewan, although it did air on both shows. Money Inc did a make title defense the previous night at the Superstars taping in Saskatoon, (where Hart defeated Flair for the championship), before they officially won the belts.

Go to the Wrestlecrap forums. Earthquake himself logs in and talks about his illness.
