My God do I ever hate Jim Rome.

There's nothing wrong with being white, Jim. Stop trying to deny your heritage. Oh yeah, and cute nicknames for every city in North America is just plain lame.

Why sports radio stations up here replay his show, therefore blasting 6 hours of Rome each day (a full quarter of their broadcast day,) is beyond me. I know people like him, but I'm not one of them.

It will be interesting seeing Rome and his rival Kornheiser on the same television network. Tony's impression of Rome rocks.

Rome should have Chris...I mean Jim.. Everett on his first show.

I hate Jim Rome too. The guy is such a smug jackass that seeing him, even just in the ads for his new show (which, considering Anaheim vs. Dallas went into quintuple overtime, I ended up seeing way too many times last night), makes me want to start throwing things at my loved ones.

Unless Jim Everett shows up and sets Rome on fire, then its not worth watching. This show might actually sink below Sports Reporters II on the ESPN food chain.

Dude is epic.

His show will rule, just like his clone, Jay Mohr.

It's a tour stop in my own house.

Give me the tongue.

Rack me, I'm out.

Speaking of ESPN, I don't think anything will top "Wilbon Clones" on PTI. That was classic.

Also, Jim Rome Sucks.

If you want to hear an AWESOME Rome impersinator, check out Frank Caliendo's site http://www.frankcaliendo.com. He's from MAD TV and does his schtick on the Bob and Tom show quite frequently.

Coming from the hoosier state, I'm happy to see some Bob and Tom love. And Frank Caliendo has made me listen to John Madden in a who new way.

Rome is tolerable these days. It's all the inhabitants of the "Jungle" and their "Takes". If I happen to be tuned in, the minute he opens the phones I quit listening. These clowns and their ridiculous, self-referential, Rome-jargon laced tirades are an embarrassment to the human race. I'd love to convene a summit meeting of the Jungle's top callers, lock them in a room and unleash Abdullah the Butcher on them with a can opener.

Caliendo was on Steve Czaban's Fox radio show last night as Madden and it was great. He said he'd draft Lebron james with the first pick today and that he wasn't the father of Melissa Stark's baby.

The e-mails are what make Rome's show, and he can be funny. But all in all his show isnt that great. While the callers are annoying, the worst part of his show is how he kisses the ass of everyone he interviews, even if he was bashing them the week before. And I agree with the MADTV guy doing the Madden impersonation, he is dead on with it. A couple weeks ago I saw him doing a fake commercial for a popcorn maker, funny funny stuff.

Everytime I see that Rome NFL draft ad, I keep expecting him to say "But Im not telling you anything you dont already know..." at the end.

And has he ever had Jim Everett on any of his shows after their little scuffle?

Just so you know how rediculously out of touch with reality Jim Rome is, when the Yankees were beating everybody and had, at the time, the best record in baseball ever, and were playing San Diego in the World Series, Jim said that he wished people would stop calling that yankees team the best ever, because all they did was win 116 games. (I think it was 116) Then he went on to predict that the Padres would sweep the Yankees, and that would shut up all the bandwagon jumpers.

I hate "The best team ever" tag. You can't call the Yanks the best team ever when you have not seen all the teams. There should only be "The best team of the decade" arguments. Sports and the way that they are played change as time goes by. To compare a team from the 1920's and a team from the 1990's really would not make sense. Furthermore you can't compare Shaq to Wilt, or Bonds to Ruth, there are so many things to factor in(the rules of the game, the amount of players and teams, their stats in regards to other players of their times.) IMHO To pick one over another weakens their place in the game.

As far as Rome goes, he sucks on radio because it's him or his retarded fans just spouting off their dumb opinions. But on tv he doesn't bother me all that much, because I only watch him when I like his guest. PTI and Around The Horn will still be far better sports shows. Jim Everett should be on the show to keep Rome in line.

I thought at first that I was going to hate Around The Horn, but now it's starting to grow on me. It's no PTI, but Bob Ryan, Jay Mariotti, and Piper, I mean Woody Paige, are good on that show.

I still don't like Around the Horn.

I think it's a waste of Ryan and Charley Pierce.
