| #1 Posted on 15.11.02 1257.00 Reposted on: 15.11.09 1259.01 | I got this from the "Between The Ropes" radio show. They said this weeks Raw was the lowest it's been in several years. The last time the ratings were this low, the main event was.......HHH vs. Shawn Michaels. That was the "match" for the European Championship when Shawn just layed down while HHH ran the ropes forever before dropping the finishing elbow.
I realize that there are some folks around here that are kind of touchy when anyone says anything that can be perceived as being even remotely negative about HHH so, don't get all protective and accuse me of being a "HHHater". I know that all the blame can't go to the main event participants. I just thought that was an interesting, if not coincidental, fact. | Promote this thread! | | krakken2000

Which coincided with the explosion of Stone Cold Steve Austin as a mainstream star. That's probably got more to do with the climb in ratings after he beat Michaels at WrestleMania. Also, losing Stone Cold (and the Rock being gone for extended periods of time) recently probably has a lot to do with the dropping ratings now. | kokolums2

Ding! Ding! I think we have a winner. Austin had the charisma and the push. Its like pornography. Hard to define, but you know it when you see it. | DarrylTheHitman

I bet if more of us HHH fans (or at least non-HHHaters) put as much effort into DEFENDING Hunter as much as the HHHaters do into DESTROYING him, we could find infinite little tidbits like this to support him.

IMPOSSIBLE!!! You can't just be objective about HHH around here. If you say ANYTHING remotely negative about HHH, you are obviously a "HHHater" that looks for every little detail to complain about. HHH is above any criticism. NOBOBY can look at HHH's work objectively and see anything that's not perfect. He does no wrong, unless you're a "HHHater".
Nevermind that I would have easily named HHH as my favorite wrestler before he left with his quad injury. I am now apparently a "HHHater" because I don't like his current productivity. I should ignore how much the quality of his matches and promos have decreased recently because he was great a couple of years ago.

The reason that wasn't mentioned is that it didn't fit into the irony of the fact that the previous low rated show featured the same 2 guys as the current low rated show is focused on. It really wasn't meant as an attack on HHH or Shawn Michaels, just an ironic observation. I even made sure to note in my original post in this thread that the blame can't be placed completely on the main event participants. I also added that the departure of Steve Austin and the lengthy absences of the Rock is a huge contributor to the drop in ratings. The retirement of Mick Foley is a factor also.
