I had the "pleasure" this weekend of attending a wedding reception where I saw an entrance almost worthy of the E. Now I have seen smoke machines, heraldic trumpeters in medieval garb and a backlit silhouette of the bride & groom kissing to name just a few but this one may have beat them all.

The emcee did the typical introductions of all of the bridesmaids, groomsmen, ring bearers, flower girls and parents before they got to the bride & groom. As they were announced a giant glass box that looked like a fishtank began to rise from the center of the dance floor. It raised the couple up about 6 feet above the dance floor. The floor inside the box then began to rotate as the happy couple did the "Royal Wave" to their 300-400 guests. The only thing missing was Ric Flair's entrance music.

I won't forget this one for a long time and I can't wait for the next wedding to see how they try and top it.

I'm in awe of the kind of wedding receptions that you attend. The best entrance I've ever seen was the bride and groom coming in through the back door of the reception hall on matched Harleys, but that doesn't even begin to compare to the entrance you're describing.

Did they come from below the floor, or walk out to the middle of the floor and start to rise?

I'd love to see a picture.
