Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 blew past Frodo and company over the weekend, to become the third highest grossing film in the world. Beating Avatar will not happen and it's chances of hitting Titanic is unlikely.
It seemed inevitable really, since every few days, the film crossed another box office milestone in record time.
Transformers 3 isn't doing too badly either, as bridesmaids go. It's found it's way to #7 on the list edging out Pirates On The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Transformers 3 will probably inch past Toy Story 3 and Dead Man's Chest to finish at #5.
That's three films this year, all making over a billion dollars... and studios complain that they are losing money? If this year proves anything, it's that the American audience isn't as important as we think we are. More and more often, films are earning almost three times as much in the rest of the world, than what earn in the states.

Even with a giant global recession, people want to go to the theaters or through globalization they now have the access they didn't before. I judge the winner by the amount of tickets sold since inflation is always going to screw those numbers. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
