The brief recap:

-Jay Lethal & Sonjay Dutt d. Motor City Machine Guns & XXX. An unexpected result, but a good match. These guys gelled really well together.
-Kaz d. Raven. Man, is it ever time for Raven to retire.
-James Storm d. Rhino via Greco-Roman Beer Bottle. Good brawl. Actually the best garbage match I've seen in quite a while.
-VKM d. LAX, then LAX d. VKM when Hector Guerrero gets the ref to restart the match. Just as ugly as I thought it would be. Good to see Hector again.
-Robert Roode d. Eric Young. Young tars and featers Traci Brooks after the match. Roode will obviously not stand for this, meaning this feud MUST continue...again!
-Chris Harris d. Black Reign via DQ. Reign beats the total crap out of Harris, meaning this feud must also continue.
-Steiners d. Team 3D. Good lord, Scottie brought his working shoes tonight! Superplex! Frankensteiner! I haven't seen Scott put on this good a performance since the last Nitro.
-Abyss, Sting & TAFKA Test d. Christian Cage, Tomko & AJ Styles. Abyss gets the pin to become YOUR #1 contender.
-Kurt Angle d. Samoa Joe. Karen Angle turns on Joe. Oh golly gee, what a SHOCKING SWERVE! I thought they couldn't handle this feud any worse, but I was wrong. Now they made Joe look like a loser AND a moron! Good job, guys!

And of course, "Pacman" Jones came out for a promo. It's interrupted by Ron Killings, who...wait, I thought Ron Killings quit! Anyway, Pacman and Killings have a great promo that would make a great setup for a wrestling match...if the NFL would let Pacman wrestle, anyway. Later, Pacman's found laying in his own blood. Now THAT'S a Sportscenter moment!

Awful show. Worst TNA PPV that I can remember.

First match was really fun. Last match was alright (stupid and obvious ending aside) but "alright" for Joe vs. Angle is not good enough.

Every other match STUNK.

Some of them had their hearts in the right place but just didn't come together -- Kaz triumphing over long odds is a great story but the match wasn't any good.

Some of them had guys working hard but the stories were lousy -- Rhino takes a drink and OH NO CAN'T STOP DRINKING FOR THE REST OF THE MATCH.

Some of them were sunk by stupid ideas involving wrestlers that no one needed to see again -- Dustin Rhodes working a "Silverdust" gimmick as a psychotic badass.

Dull. Stupid. Lousy.

***EDIT! OH. And the new interviewer girl they got is AWFUL. While the wrestlers are cutting promos, she's there making these sarcastic "whatever" faces. Some big dude's threatening to kick someone else's teeth in, and she'll be shaking her head and rolling her eyes. UGH.

***EDIT #2: OH, again. Who let Kip James into Torrie Wilson's wardrobe closet? I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. He was wearing BRIGHT turquoise trunks with little garters attached to long, flowing bright turquoise leggings. UGH x2

Joe looks like a dick for this entire angle, and then loses with a swerve EVERYONE saw coming to now look like an idiot. I am usually quick to defend TNA, but I think now they have crapped away their opportunity with Joe. This was the last chance to salvage him as their top guy, and they instead make him look like a gullible asshole. Great characteristics for a top face.

If you want to go with Angle as the top guy, that's fine. But do you have to totally discredit Joe at the same time? Now who is going to be the top face to take the belt from Kurt? No offense to Abyss, who I like, but he is not the guy. Maybe....JERICHO??? Yeah, right.

I can just see the verbal exchange backstage between Samoa Joe and Sting ...

Joe: So, Sting do you think that I can trust Karen Angle?
Sting: Absolutely!

That makes two of us. It's even funnier if you picture it with Sting in his old early 90's style makeup.

This PPV at least answered the question of what it would be like if Lex Luger was a chunky Samoan dude. At least he was jobbing out repeatedly to Ric Flair in/near his prime, as opposed to Joe who is stuck losing endlessly to Kurt Angle who is held together by chewing gum and prayer. I would not be surprised if in early 2008 ROH has a surprise return of Samoa Joe on one of their PPV's.

Dump a bunch of WWE castoffs and stick Black Reign in there and, theoretically, it sounds just fine to me. Didn't see it in execution, but I don't see what's so bad about it.

Well, I don't like Dustin Rhodes at all. So there's that. As far as Black Reign -- he's got the "Golddust" makeup job, wig included, but in black and silver instead of gold. Outfit is also like Golddust's, only in black and silver, and a baggy two-piece instead of a tight one piece. So I'm suppposed to look at this obvious -- obvious -- spoof of Golddust and say, "wow, what an evil, edgy dude!" and I just can't do it.
