Or more specifically, the last foreign journalist to be deported's experiences there. It's just a really good read throughout - particularly of interest is that he blames the Rhodesia regime of Iain Smith for creating Robert Mugabe.

I suppose you could draw parallels between Zimbabwe and South Africa, in terms of the growing pains they're suffering.

In SA's case, though, I do think things are going to get better. There is a growing amount of foreign money coming into the country.

In both countries, though, there is such a large percentage of people below the poverty line that violence and theft will be part of the reality for some time to come.

As for blaming the previous regime in Zim, I suppose so. People who were raised under that regime have such a negative perception of themselves and their country, and how easily do you get rid of that?
