Dave Meltzer's daily update at wrestlingobserver.com runs through all the matchs tomorrow, and when he writes about the Rock/Foley vs Evolution match, he simply says ..."except the unexpected". Foley turning heel or even Rock turning heel could be possible. Foley turning heel to kick off the ECW launch would be incredible.

And pointless, given he isn't going to be around for long.
But it's certainly a different take on the cryptic Meltzer sentence of the year.

Bah. This is one of those sentences that Meltzer throws in there that could later be interpreted after the fact to mean just about everything. Kinda like Nostradamus prophecies.
I can't imagine Rock or especially Foley turning heel and joining Evolution. Maybe at the most, the Rock and Sock Connection will have a mystery partner. But would it really make sense for them to have a high-profile mystery partner making his return to WWE (like Hogan or Savage) and not announce they even had a mystery partner until the show itself took place? If they were gonna have Hogan be their third guy (oooh, that sounds eerily familiar), one would assume Vinnie Mac would use it to pop the buyrates.
So my guess is, Meltzer's fulla crap. Which probably shouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone.

It seems he has something very specific in mind.

Your guess stinks. I fear it means Hogan, for whatever reason. But it could just mean Randy going over strong.

If they're losing both Rock and Foley following the show, then the Hogan idea may not be so dumb after all. If its booked right, they can wrap up Foley's Orton issue nicely and set up Hogan as Orton's next big legend to kill.

The only plausible reason to bring in Hogan is so that Foley can finally be in the ring with both Flair and Hogan, thus accomplishing that last goal.
As for Foley turning heel, its highly doubtful. First, he'd have to be semi-active for at least 6 months, as he'd need that much time to be hated by the fans and then do a tear jerking face turn as he left. Also, its not like Hogan turning in '96, as there was a built in base of traditional WCW fans who despised Hogan to begin with, so at least there was a base to dislike him. With Foley, the WWF/E crowd has seen him do comedy for close to 5 years with Socko, so the reaction would be much like a Flair turn in the Carolina's late in his career: They might boo, but they won't have the type of hatred for Foley that he would need to justify a heel turn. Plus, he can't beat up Jim Ross like Austin did to solidify his heel turn, as beating up JR in '97 helped turn him face.

Foley turning heel would just be flatout stupid, counterproductive, and kill any momentum that storyline had going. It's classic Russo booking: Foley is Orton's bitch, Orton spits in his face, leads gang attacks on him for weeks... and he turns heel and joins him? What the hell kind of sense does that make, especially since nobody wants to boo Foley and it kills a potential money match in Orton-Foley? Rock turning heel is pointless too, since he's not an active competitor anymore... he made his heel run in 2003 work because he had around 2+ months to work on it, whereas he just pops in for one or two weeks at a time nowadays.
Hogan or Savage coming in just for the purpose of setting up a program where they eventually job to Orton wouldn't make sense to either of them from a business standpoint, so I doubt those rumors have any credibility.

This would be a great idea! I had hoped they would at some point bring out "Ace" as another legend to be run down by his son.
