You didn't say past or present so I'll give you a couple of mine.

1) Jesse Ventura
2) Mr. Perfect

They are what textbook heel commentating was all about.

I loved Heyman. It took me awhile, but he grew on me, and I miss him behind the desk, especially when Lawler goes apeshit.

If we're talking historical, Bobby Heenan, hands down.

Recent history has to be Raven.

Currently, Tazz by a wide margin.

Raven & D'Lo coming in close second.

Why hasn't Scott Hudson been offered a job yet?

Okay, in terms of all-time, i'd say, yeah, Heenan.

Tod- I think the reason no WCW announcer was offered a job is because they sounded "too WCW"- that is, if people hear them on commentary, it will remind them of the dying days of WCW. I think.

Scott Hudson has a 'real' job (they mentioned that he worked in the Georgia State's Attorney's office while working in WCW, I recall, and I believe he's still there) so he doesn't really need the aggravations of wrestling annoucing and isn't able to give the time committment they'd need out of him. Meltzer and Keller also said that he showed up to that first RAW he was in less than the formal outfit Vince expects out of his announcers, so they didn't take to him.

Josh because Josh is incredibly unpolished but really really is into doing it. Tazz and Cole are a notch below because they have better partners to work with

Coach makes me laugh but often when he doesn't mean to make me laugh. I think Coach has been getting better and working more on the stuff I care about lately, so I won't be too harsh on him. Still, Coach and Cat would be all-time worst team and I want to make this happen somehow.

Has Vince ever seen what Lawler wears? Those wrestling tights are one of the most disturbing things in wrestling.

I like Josh, he's so good for being so young. But the one thing he needs to stop doing is screaming "OW" after every move. After every move from with some impact he says "Ow". It gets very annoying... Michael Cole had that problem for years, just in the last half year or so he's stopped doing that. Also in the last half year Cole has also stopped doing that real annoying obvious fake laugh he used to do all th time, "hahahaa" was his laugh, it sounded sarcastic but he used it as his real laugh. MC has improved so much in the last half year or so. Tazz is my favorite of the current crop of announcers.

I'd have to go with YOUR RSP-W 2002 play by play man of the year....Michael Cole. The man has simply lapped Jim Ross when it comes to the matches themselves, and he and Tazz made even the Al Wilson saga tolerable. Almost.

I would have to go with Bobby Heenan as well. Currently...well, JR at least makes me laugh sometimes. Taz not wrestling anymore when he should logically have been beating everyone in the WWE half to death just depresses me. The King should be the MC at a strip club..actually I can picture it now "OH MY LORD, GET A LOAD OF THOSE PUPPIES! ALL RIGHT GENTLEMEN, UP NEXT WE HAVE CANDY, DOING WHAT SHE DOES BEST. DON'T FORGET OUR TWO DOLLAR DRINK SPECIALS AND AS ALWAYS LAP DANCES ARE JUST $20!! etc etc."

Of all time, would have to be Heenan.

In recent times, I would say Paul Heyman. JR is great in small doses (and truly he rarely has an off-day on the mic) but his star has certainly dropped.

Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. He could come back today and take them all to school. Mr. Perfect was also gold on at the table. Piper was great when teaming with Heenan.

Tazz for the moment, is my favorite right now.

Currently Tazz.

And not to say he's my favorite, but I always enjoyed Mike Tenay. I wouldn't want him as my primary color man, but I would like to see him as part of a three man team. His knowledge of wrestling moves and history made him unique.

Gorilla and Bobby. No one ever had their chemistry of Straight man/comedian. I cannot picture WWF in the 80's without hearing Heenan offering Gorilla some bananas and Monsoon saying "Will you be serious?".

I miss Monsoon. He was my favorite play by play man ever. He was very articulate, and knew how to tell a story with the match. Plus, I dug the blue glasses!
