Yeah, I can accept recycled ideas from The Simpsons, since they've been on the air for almost 25 years. But come on, FG, I expect better than this by now. This felt like a rehash of PTV more than anything else.

And we're starting to get back to the point where the jokes are more "random crap to amuse the writers" than anything actually funny.

It's another miss. Maybe next week.

But I do have to admit that Homer Simpson's legit cameo made my head explode.

Peter: Please, doc, you've gotta help me with this nasty gash.
Dr. Hartman: What seems to be the problem?
Lois: No, it's my husband.

The "Peter's NPR show" cutaway was where I turned to my wife and said "oh, Family Guy, you've done it again."

(And, like, not in the positive way.)

Between that and the "Mort's menorah-pack" jokin'-about-Jews-joke-o'-the-week, it was definitely more cringes than laughs (with the Homer cameo probably being the only thing close to a laugh). I've probably said this before, but this show is more something to endure between the two shows before and after it than something to watch and enjoy.

I thought they had the best episode of Mad Men ever. I did like the jetpack gag. The fire fight scene was darn good.
