If this ends up in the banished folder I'll understand why, but this is a question that I have always wondered ... even moreso now that they are playing it once a show. What is the 'CawCawCaw' like sound at the begining of HBK's music suppossed to be? Or what is it that makes that sound?

I always was under the impression that this was supposed to be the sound of women "swooning".

The original Sherri Martel version also had the same effect, only followed by her saying "Oh, Shawn!"

No, its different, in the Sherri version shes saying ''Ohh Ohh Shawn'', while the current version is ''Ahhh Ahhhh Shawn''...Sherri is the only one singing in her version while the current one sounds like possibly afew girls singing....I have both versions, I don't know where the CD quality Sherri version came from because I don't believe it was every released on a CD, it's great quality though and it's just as good as the current one.

I don't hear an "sh" sound in the first two moans. Although the lyrics to "I'm Just A Booker T" do begin "Book, Book, Booook."

They're different. IIRC, Sherri's goes "ooooh Shaaaawn" in a more distinguishable voice whereas the real deal is "oh oh Shawn."

Am I the only one who had Jive Soul Bro pop into his head when that gif of McMahon strutting loaded?

I remember the Sherri version of the theme and as far as I can tell, her Oooh's and Aaah's are still used in the song to this day.

They've been tweeked and over dubbed...but I think its the original ones.

I doubt it, but I had "Let Me Clear My Throat" in my head. Anyone who frequents ytmnd.com knows why (site is down at the moment, for those checking).

I have a few of those early 90's WWF Fan Club cassette tapes, and just for S&G I pulled it out to see if the "OHH, OHH" thing was different in the current version. It is. Sherri was banished from the vocal track entirely I guess. I do recall the announcers playing it up as "Shawn is so arrogant that he demanded to rerecord his own song with him singing" after Sherri left the WWF.

Looking at these tapes now, they're pretty awesome. Undertaker's first theme, Bret's first theme, Sherri-vocals version of HBK's theme, Papa Shango's theme, Warrior's theme, Repo Man's theme - you know, the FIRST theme to have the glass breaking at the beginning, Mr. Perfect's theme...er, plus a lot of crappy ones.

KaneRobot got it right. As soon as Sherri left, HBK re-recorded his theme. Sherri's version started with "OHHHHHH Shawn." The new one after she left was anonymous female swooning with the "Oh Oh, Shawn." Sherri's voice was much more distinct and nasally. And I'm now realizing how similar she looks to Fran Drescher.

It happened back when Booker T was a member of the nWo (WWE version). HBK had just returned and locked himself inside the nWo's locker room for "down time." Nash, Xpac, Big Show, and Booker were all outside. Booker started making fun of HBK's theme song. There ya go.
