Carlito Caribbean Cool was injured on tonight's Smackdown house show in Fort Myers. He suffered a shoulder injury, but it isn't known how bad the injury is at this point. He took a bump on the outside of the ring and landed wrong. They stopped the match and awarded it to Hardcore Holly due to a countout. CCC was helped to the back.

This could throw a wrench in some of the WWE's bookings.

Yeah, that could throw a BIG WRENCH into the WWE Bookings if it is something serious considering basically waltzed into the WWE and beat, at totally over Cena in Boston, to win the Smackdown US Championship. With Survivor Series next Sunday I figure they'll work him light on Smackdown if, as I said, it isn't a really serious injury. Something torn, broken, and/or sprained. Sprained being the one I'd work through...knowing the mentality of some or most wrestlers.

That is definitely NOT COOL.

Here's hoping it's something minor he can work through. =\

If anything, Jesus could step in as filler for the match.

That'll likely be the plan, if Carly can't wrestle. I imagine it's gotta be something big if he couldn't continue, though. Wrestling seems to be rougher in Puerto Rico, so one would think he could take a lot.

Aguilera was a perfectly adequate wrestler when I last saw him in 2003. He's a tall guy who can work American & Lucha style. He's spent quite a bit of time in 2004 training in the Inoki Dojo as well.

How many young guys get hurt while wrestling Bob Holly. Don't now if this was Bob's fault or not but there's a bit of a pattern of OVW guys getting injured while in the ring with Holly.

Of course, if it's a shoulder injury, he could conceivably show up to cut a promo, get punked and pinned and drop the belt.

Not necessarily. Now, granted, this would put the "title must be defended every 30 days" canon all over the place just in the last 12 months, with the contrast of Big Show barely defending the U.S. title last year yet the "rule" not being enforced vs. Edge being stripped of the IC title this year for being injured.

Assuming simply for argument's sake Carlito's unable to wrestle for, say, a month and a half, there are ways to work around the injury until Plan A gets back on track. Especially since we're tlaking about a heel champion here, and there's a long and storied tradition of heel champions finding new and creative ways to not defend titles.

But just going out and having a title reign defused like that if there's ways to avoid doing so? That is not cool.
