I've been absolutely loving season four, so was disappointed it came to an end. But what a way to end things.

I was (sorta) wrong on two fronts going into this episode: I didn't think Walt poisoned Brock, and I didn't want Gus to be killed off - I think there are enough questions in his background to develop things further with him in the final season. But it became very clear during this episode that it would be his last.

When I saw Gus walking out of Tio's room after the blast, I thought "no fucking way he's still alive." Then the camera pans over and....wow. I thought, aside from the last shot, this had the feeling more of a series finale than a season finale, especially compared to season three's end. If I had to guess, I'd imagine the series ends next season with the cancer getting the better of Walt.

I was waiting for someone to start this thread ... just an epic, epic season finale ... I really hope Giancarlo Esposito gets some Emmy attention for his role as Gus ...

A couple loose ends that I hope are resolved next season ... what's Ted's condition? Is he dead? Where's the ricin cigarette?

It's already been confirmed that next season is the final one, with 16 episodes ... but wonder if they'll be split into two, 8 episode runs.

I thought there was a throwaway line where they say Ted died.

I noticed the flowers a few episodes ago but had no idea what they were. Online, reading about reactions to the episode, many in the Southwest already guessed the poison and poisoner correctly as soon as they said Brock was poisoned.

Where do I think they're going with Season 5? Mike is still alive in Mexico in that makeshift hospital, right? Jessie learns the truth about Mr. White and he and Mike go for revenge and have to take him down, and Mr. White goes down, in a blaze of glory.

I really enjoyed this season. A lot of the twists I just didn't see coming until they happened. The finale was top notch. I am going to miss Gus it's going to make for an interesting final season. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the havoc created by the blue meth seep into the final season and I see Hank as the biggest wild card going.

This did feel like a series finale, but it was too happy and optimistic, there will be more pain.

Edit: I do want to say that I am overlooking the whole cigarette switcharoo. I'm fine with Walt being a guy that poisoned the kid, but I'm not sure I get how he swapped the smokes. The pat down wasn't that smooth, or was it?

How does Heinsenberg go back to being a normal person?

I guess it felt like a series finale because, in an interview with the New York Times, Vince Gilligan said at the time they were filming the final episode of season four, they weren't sure if they'd be back for a fifth season.

That ending would have been fine if it was the finale, but also leaves it open for more.

Has there ever been a more intense show on TV? It might be my favorite show, but I have to be in the mood to watch it, if that makes sense. It is amazing how they can throw these characters into such deep shit over and over, and somehow it always ends up basically back to the status quo.

Giancarlo Esposito (Gustava) absolutely CARRIED this season. Hos character made an already great show epic. If he does not win an Emmy for this it is a crime.

Count me in as one of those who saw Gus walk out of the room and screamed "NO FUCKING WAY!" only to be blown away (sorry for the pun) when the camera swung around. What a great ending to a great season.

I think the show can end a couple of ways next season - Jesse kills Mr. White or Mr. White winds up on top, alone, but as the new drug lord.

Either way, next season can not come fast enough.

Now onto the Walking Dead!

Not only was it smooth, but apparently the scene was blocked that way.

Brilliant show, brilliant finale. Yeah, I could live with that as a series finale, but obviously, things have to turn back to shit with these characters. This show is so good I don't even bother speculating what will happen next.

Walter White has had the most dramatic turnaround in character I've ever seen on TV.

Him poisoning the kid only made sense because every bold thing he's done has been 100% due to fear. He HAD to get Jesse on his side and HAD to get at least the possibility of meeting Gus out there.

When Gus walked out and straightened his tie, I was flabbergasted, then when the camera swung around, I let out a HOLY SHIT of old ECW intensity. Simply a great way to kill him off.

The whole DEA interrogation room scene was hilarious. Nice touch.

Like Dan Harmon did with last season's Community, the AV Club has BB creator Vince Gilligan talking about every episode of season four in a four-part series, starting here: http://www.avclub.com/articles/vince-gilligan-walks-us-through-season-four-of-bre,63013/
