At least there was a semi-interesting payoff....
How many Vince/Shawn video packages do we need?....The Shawn/Vince match wasn't much, and the post match stuff was kinda dumb....I wonder if they'll put Umaga over Flair at Backlash?....
The Mickie/Trish feud has kinda died down, and tonight's segment was pointless....The main event was a non-finish too, and nothing they haven't done in the handicap matches. Promote this thread! | | DirtyMikeSeaver

I didn't even care that they were on the same team... but RVD and Carlito just slapping hands and being by gosh just a happy face team insulted my intelligence more than God as Shawn Michaels' tag team partner ever could. | ges7184

| #4 Posted on 24.4.06 2357.58 Reposted on: 24.4.13 2359.01 | To be fair, Carlito wasn't just slapping hands and gosh just happy with RVD, he was acting quite heelish (making sure RVD got the hot tag with Haas, not himself, only reluctantly getting involved at all in the match, etc.) even being on the face team. He didn't even celebrate the win with RVD and Haas. I don't know if he was told to do that, or if Carilito recognized on his own that he couldn't just act all buddy-buddy with RVD, but I don't think it played out that badly.
Same can't be said about the Trish/Mickie angle, in my opinion I think we can declare the angle officially botched. At one time, it looked like they may be able to turn that into a money match (rare for the women). But that opportunity has been lost. | The 5th Horseman

I would agree with you if you just singled out RVD, but Carlito was far from cooperative and the happy babyface partner. From the beginning when Carlito heelishly took charge and pushed RVD and Haas out of the ring so he could start the match only to run for a quick tag after first contact, Carlito was playing the heel forced to tag with the faces role. However, RVD showed no antagonism toward Carlito, which just doesn't make sense.
I really hope Vince disappears for a while after Backlash and Shawn Michaels can move on to a feud with the real wrestlers. And, what happened to Vince hiring another GM for Raw?
Unfortunately, we can't get rid of Kane that easily. I guess we are stuck with the pushing (or should I say shoving down the throats) of his movie for another 2 months minimum. | AWArulz

So you missed the point, wasn't pointless, that now that Mickie relized she shouldn't idolize Trish but Trish is crazier than Mickie now. I got she was trying to really tick Mickie off as bad a Mickie ticked her trying to be like her in the begining of all this. I'm glad it was a short piece in the show but not "pointless". | sentonBOMB

And yeah, I guess it was RVD's actions I was more focused on. The guy puts you on the shelf for a couple more months so you can't wrestle at the PPV you essentially created, and there's no ill will... | dMp

| #11 Posted on 25.4.06 0835.06 Reposted on: 25.4.13 0835.35 | Kathy and Tonia (sunburned from Spring Break) couldn't make it, so Travis alone came over to catch the show. We had to clarify why the crowd loved the heel Triple H but not the also-heel Edge (Triple H is playing to the crowd as a cool heel, which virtually everyone loves to watch). When the Spirit Squad interrupted the main-event guys, he called up Kathy to taunt her. We agreed to TiFaux the match for her to watch next week.
Otherwise, this was a bleh show to sell the PPV. And since Travis wasn't keen on buying that, he wasn't into the show. Same with us; we rarely watch the B-level PPVs.
Travis thinks Lita is the hottest of the divas, although Victoria caught his eye in the bikini contest. We dug the big Shane stunt, and I shared the joke I read right here, on this very board, that God's finisher would require the Four Horsemen to reunite. That went over big. Jackson, take a bow.
The Kane/Show segment flopped with us. It unfortunately followed a Jon Lovitz Subway commercial, and we mocked the skit by imitating Lovitz's Master Thespian character. Seriously, Kane just can't pull off this crazy stuff that well without the mask. We were glad to see Flair, but the Lovely Mrs. Tracker was distracted by Umaga's opponent and what appeared to be the Seattle Seahawk logo on his tights.

Are we also supposed to believe that after the whole "Shane buying WCW behind his dad's back," Shane is now heralded as the wonderful product of VKM semen? Without even a shout-out to Linda?
I missed most of the show, but tuned in just in time to see the Spirit Squad vs Edge/HHH/Cena match. The Spirit Squad, to me, is terrific. Talk about taking one of the most horrific gimmicks (after the wrestling dentist, the wrestling tax attourney, and Judy Steiner), and going insanely over the top to make it hilarious and entertaining...it's impressive, IMO.

The VKM vs. God stuff is getting a little over the top for me. I hope the payoff is either good or quick...this just needs to go away.
And am I the only one who is getting tired of Cena getting booed for no apparent reason other than "it's cool" to boo him? I get it, his gimmick has been neutred, but as far as his ring work goes he's not THAT bad. This just seems like audience assassination to me. Not that I'm a big fan either...but I don't think he deserves the level of vitriole that he's been receiving.
HHH on the other hand...he's good at what he does, when he seems motivated enough. His mic work, and ring work have been decent as of late again...I just worry that the audience should be careful what they wish for.
That's my 2 cents... | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
