Unlimited: We open to Lillian singing the National Anthem. Followed by USA chants. Out first Joey Styles?!? What no Ross as rumored? Next Jerry "The King" Lawler.

THE POWER IS BACK!

Vince is on the screen bragging about beating HBK and "God". So Vince is taking off for the night and, what the hell, the Spirit Squad are all "Co-general managers" tonight. Great, there putting there straps on the line. Cena is facing one of them. Diva's tag team match. Cheerleaders the greatest performers in the world?!? Well at least to the spirit squad.

It's time to WAKE UP! Live from Columbus OH it's MONDAY NIGHT RAW!

Review of EDGE vs Foley from Mania. We've got the "Cutting Edge" with Foley. We start with cheerleader Torrie Wilson. Maria gets a new theme and looks good as cheerleader. Why am I having flashbacks of "The Man Show"? Evil cheerleader Victoria...and Mickie James who was sort of already in that gimmick out for the Diva contest. They sneak attack Torrie and Maria. Hair pull first by Victoria. Maria vs Mickie...well...Maria get the one up on the Mickie the Victoria into the corner then...a stink face?!? Bronco buster?!? I agree with King can I get in the match. Out to interfere is the injured Trish and down goes Mickie with Maria on top for the three count! Our first Ad break.

UNLIMITED: Sign of the night. Some one hates Edges smile. Somebody lost there apple to Carlito. Hmm...TGIM?!? Thank God For Monday (Night Raw)

We're Back: Spirit Squad is out. The five member Tag Team champions. Spirit straws?!? Six man match? Eugene, Goldust, and Snitsky...the "Odd Squad". We cut to Vince in the middle of the match with Candice serving drinks to him. Well, does anybody have envy for Vince? Some mat wrestling with Eugene. Missed dropkick leads to mauling on the outside on Eugene. ROCKBOTTOM out of no where for Eugene. Snitsky house of FIRE! Double team on the outside after they get Snitsky. Johnny Go Round kick puts out Eugene for the three count. Rock N' Roll express style double dropkicks on Snitsky. Ad Break

UNLIMITED: Kiss Cam...MICKIE is out and is crazy! Revenge on Maria with a DDT and as she leaves says keep doing your little Kiss Cam.

We're Back: They show what I watched. Interview with Eugene about losing and Matt Striker attacks Eugene with a PAPERBACK edition of Webster Dictionary. This week in wrestling history Vince makes a mockery of "God" and wrestling history. Spirit squad shows up in the locker room where Haas, Show, and Michaels are sitting and says HBK can have the night off as a wrestler but not as a ref. They give him a May 19th shirt so Kane will go crazy. Ad Break

UNLIMITED: Conway promos on Kane saying he's gonna win.

We're Back: Backlash recap on WWE.com and review of the Big Show/Kane from Backlash. HBK is out to ref in his yellow May 19th shirt. Why do I see a Chokeslam to Hell coming? Out comes Conway. Nut shot to Conway and he has the yellow shirt on. HELLFIRE AND BRIMSTONE! Conway into the steel steps and then the rail. Kane bangs on his head trying to get the demons out of his head. HBK enjoying the beating Conway is getting and in fact hands Kane a trash can he obliterates Conway. Followed by a CHOKESLAM to hell and the Tombstone. HBK is smarter than the Spirit Squad as Kane is getting crazier than a pet coon. Ad Break

UNLIMITED: Conway gimped out and Estrada out for UMAGA!!!

We're Back: Review of Umaga beating the tar out of Flair. A wild Samoan is out...Gory Fox is the whipping boy for Jamal V2.0 and almost literally three, wait four, moves later this "MONSTER" has another victory. We cut Vince getting ready to get to know Candice a bit better when in HHH come and well apparently Vince has a flashlight in his pocket and is happy to see HHH. Why do I have a feeling that Cena getting screwed out of the title tonight?!? As Vince says you're a ref in the WWE Championship match. Hmm...I think we're going to get a new champion this week. Vince says he might want to be the ref or HHH might end up the old man next time. Ad Break

UNLIMITED: Setup for Cutting Edge and Lita is out saying she hurt and not to call her a "HO".

We're Back: Edge is out. Looking a bit rugged from last nights match. They smooch a bit. Now Edge runs his mouth and still says he has claim because HHH was pinned not him. Mania reminded and Joey is called for his calling of the match. Edge invites Foley out and THERE he is! "The Hardcore Legend" Mick Foley. Foley did soul searching after Mania...what went wrong? No what went right? Greatest Hardcore match in wrestling history? Ok...Edge tough? Respect? Through the fire table. Foley saying that Edge look afterward is what he defines as his moment. Wrestlemania rematch?!? Great, Edge backs out but says next week we'll do it. It's going to interesting. Ad break

UNLIMITED: Trivia for autographed T-Shirts. Crash and Hardcore Holly defeated Rock N' Sock connection for the Tag Titles. Trish Stratus won in Columbus for her 5th womens title and Hulk Hogan did something...missed the question typing hey smart fans all of them were right. Dang.

We're Back: Review of winner take all match. Out now is Gas Masters...with his entrance poses. Promo by Masters. Carlito is the target of Masters promo and he's going spitting teeth. Masters wants RVD. IC title run for Masters?!? He's challenging RVD to the Masterlock Challenge! Here is RVD! Money in the Bank and IC Champion. RVD Chant! Who's going to break it? Shelton runs in and it's open season on RVD. Out for the ironic save is Carlito who made RVD miss more action before he returned. Out is a co-GM to make a match. It starts now AD Break

UNLIMITED: Bell rings. Shelton and Carlito start the match. They hit fast and furious maneuvers then Shelton tags out to Masters who wants Carlito who heels out and tags RVD who's "Cool" with that.

We're Back: Masters and RVD when we come back and RVD is on the mat. Shelton and Master switch out working RVD. Slam by Shelton and back to working RVD on the mat. Spirit Squad tells Joey to come see them...pink slip anyone? Masters working on RVD still on the mat. RVD working his way up and off the ropes.spin heel kick to Masters. House of fire Carlito. Takes out Shelton and then masters. Fast action that ends with a back cracker on Masters then Shelton was going to use the Chair and Haas out of now where to distract Shelton and a roll up with a hook of the tights Carlito pulls off the win. Smackdown review of the main event. The Henry destruction of Angle. Well Joey shows up and he's going to be wearing a Cheerleader costume because he lacks spirit. Geez...I don't wanna see it. Ad Break

UNLIMITED: Kenny is still going....and he wants the rest of the squad out when he wins tonight. 1...2...3...Championship.

We're Back: Another preview of See No Evil...great...uncomfortable. We see Joey come back and Jerry is making fun of him. Joey getting mad and calls King a Hack. King ends up pushing Joey down and the crowd erupts into and ECW chant as he leaves. Ad Break

UNLIMITED: King trys to apologize...to no avail.

We're Back: Review of what happened between King and Joey. King trying to win Joey back out. Hmm...Joey's out with a mic. WOW! He just handed the WWE there ASS! On Your Knees Dog! It's TRIPLE H the guest REF! Ad Break

UNLIMITED: HHH doing his taunts and Todd Grisham is out. Great! Todd can't call this or can he?

We're Back Spirit Squad is out...Kenny is going up against Cena. Cena is out! Chain Gang in Columbus it sounds like. Kenny tries to one up Cena but he takes control of the match. Nice bruise from the sledge hammer. HHH is pulling a HBK ref job...until he goes for the FU. As I said I think I smell a title change. Wait HHH helps Cena get beaten up but he's not counting him. Jeez...HHH is really out for himself. Kenny in control until Cena comes back with punches and the shoulder block. Rest of the spirit squad interferes. HHH slow even counts. Cena keeps kicking out at two. You can't see Kenny with a neck breaker. No...DDT by Kenny to cut Cena off at the pass. Holy crap what DX chant. The match breaks down HBK helps Cena to the Vicotry. Logo and cut to black.

Well that was interesting what do you all think?

Wow, the divas tag match actually wasn't that bad....Spirit Squad v.s Odd Squad was alright, nothing more. Eugene going off on Bischoff during his interview was kinda strange....The May 19th t-shirt bit with Michaels and Conway was funny. Michaels saved that Kane/Conway segment....

After beating Flair, all they could do with Umaga was have him squash a jobber? Lame....Foley's promo was pretty good, but Joey gave away the punchline of the interview....The Masters/Shelton v.s RVD/Carlito match wasn't too bad, and I'm glad they haven't forgotten about Haas yet....

The Joey/Lawler deal harkened back to when RAW was exciting and unpredictable. Good promo from Joey. I wonder what management thought about the fans cheering everything Joey said, up until he bashed them....The Kenny/Cena match wasn't going to be great (or even good), as the main deal was Trips' reluctance to be there. That itself dragged the match quality down.

It's too bad they didn't do this angle right the first time when no one saw it coming. They set up the ECW Invasion beautifully then.

Did any one transcribe the Joey tirade?

Good gravy, just pull the trigger already. D Fucking X, baby. It's what we want to see.

Nice to hear Joey rip WWE a new one, and unlike the crowd, I was probably cheering the loudest when he bashed the crowd for buying into the bullshit Vince has been foistering on us. I just wonder how they're going to explain JR's return (in kayfabe, I mean).

It's good to see that the WWE isn't backing away from Batista or Cena. There's still some questions lingering over a few of the draft moves they either made or didn't make (Jericho being a prime example), but the stage is set for a solid run to Summerslam that may send the indicator down. The longer Triple H stays away is also a plus...

WAS the crowd cheering Joey? It sounded like dead silence during a lot of it from what I could tell. It was a great promo, though. Nice touch pulling the WWE logo block off the microphone at the end. And (during Edge's segment), did Joey steal that glare he gave Edge from Tazz?

It really annoys me when they do "pick on the announcers" stories. Styles put an end to this one perfectly.

I don't think they have to explain JR's return at all. He's already been doing the pay-per-views, and now there's an opening.

Lots of good promos. Eugene going off on Bischoff was completely out of left field and hysterical. And any night you get a Foley promo is a good one.

They were until Styles' shot at the crowd towards the end of the promo. Way to kill all your babyface heat (no matter how right he was) there, Joey.

I was hoping we'd come back from commercial and Joey would have Sabu in tow to demolish the King. Next week, methinks.

I vote for the Spirit Squad to be the GM every week if we're going to get those cheerleader divas matches. Good times!!!

God, I hope so. People need to be reminded that Lawler once tried to kill ECW too, and in a much more real fashion than last year (for wrestling, anyway).

It sounded to me like they were cheering at the end of each of Joey's statements. It was odd because they were with him until he turned on them. Is that really a good way to have him leave and then come back as the voice of the ECW show? It seemed like Vince and/or the writers thought the crowd would be against Joey's tirade from the beginning.

And, wouldn't that whole thing with Joey and Lawler have made more sense if it was Coach rather than Lawler? Joey and Lawler haven't had tension like Coach and Joey have had. Of course, just calling Coach "a hack" would have been too generous of a description for Coach.

Anyway, despite me thinking they could have had slight improvements (as I mentioned above) I still think they handled Joey's departure very well.

As for the rest of the show, I liked it also. I definitely won't complain about seeing Maria, Victoria, and Mickie in those cheerleader outfits. And, it was also nice to see Trish back so soon after her injury last night.

The tag team match with RVD and Carlito vs. Shelton and Masters was entertaining, other than the inexplicable and useless inclusion of Vince and the newest Playboy pushee in the back.

I hated the Spirit Squad when they first started the gimmick, but while I'm still not thrilled with the gimmick, the wrestlers are entertaining in the roles so far. That 6 man match wasn't bad and the Rock & Roll Express would be proud of that sweet double dropkick from the Spirit Squad guys at the end of the match.

Man, that was a hell of a show. Foley's always awesome, but that was top-notch. And Edge is doing everything Orton failed to do in the same position (most importantly, showing fear of Foley!)

There's nothing to say about Joey that hasn't already been said. Oh, except that, yes, the crowd was cheering; even when Joey went after the crowd, the reaction only went partly negative, and then rebound back to positive a few seconds later.

Oh, and something my wife pointed out to me: Jerry does "offended and a little hurt" better than anybody.

And of course, the highlight of the night, like every night: Cena's music hits, and the crowd goes batshit. Man, the Cena phenomenon just gets more and more fun to watch every week.

the Joey Styles RAW promo was at least three minutes too long, way too about much about inside things most fans probably don't care about, and ill conceived both in the idea to turn him heel, and to kickstart the ECW bit over an announcer.

It's also the exact sort of promo that a fair bit of 'smart' wrestling fans will [fill in your blank] in their pants in excitement. That whole notion of Joey quasi-'shooting' is taken backwards by those people, I believe. They wouldn't have Joey saying anything on the air that hasn't been said behind closed doors many times before, and the fact that they let Joey say those things on air without actually changing the product in any way (or giving the impression that they were going to do so) means the speech essentially boils down to

Here are the things some of you think are wrong. This man has proven himself an idiot for saying so, and you are equally wrong for thinking this way. Learn to love WWE the way it is and stop complaining.

Having Joey go heel at the end of it sends the message that the splinter group is not "different", but they're "wrong", because they're against the WWE fans. (And all Joey's complaints invalid, because obviously the man is insane if he's against Our Great WWE Fans.) That does not bode well for the long term prospects of ECW.

They really had to have Coach out there for that skit, because it's a billion times better with him. They've been fine to let Coach ruin many a broadcast over the last eight or so months, and I think they could've let him do one more to get this angle over a lot better - if they wanted ECW as a face. I think they know the fans were going to choose Joey over Coach, so they were hoping they'd choose Lawler over Coach. Lawler doing the bitter old man act didn't actually help.

Unrelated: So, is it early July when they fall out of love with the Spirit Squad? How long did it take with Eugene before they stopped overexposing him?

Unrelated (2): Took long enough to get Mickie in a blue cheerleader outfit coming out to the Mickie song. I think we've gotten the joke now!

I really liked tonites RAW.

What makes the Spirit Squad great is their facial expressions and mannerisms that they use. When Michaels was getting his orders for the night from the Spirit Squad leader, I was laughing out loud watching the other squad members carrying on in the background as they taunted HBK.

Count me in with everyone else who absolutely loved the Joey rant....until they had to go and ruin it having Styles bash the audience.

Was it really necessary cutting to Vince making out backstage while a match is going on ? What was up with that ?

I wasn't too impressed with any of this. But to each their own. The wrestling fan in me is definitely on life support after 23 years.

But "Samoan SMASHING Machine"??? I heard that and could only think, "This is the best you can do? Steal from TNA, in a childish attempt to confuse fans?" Sorry, but that sums up WWE's "creativity" for me in a nutshell.

I really think ALL OF THAT is a lot easier than asking them to accept JR coming back once again after being kicked in the balls by Linda and the whole Dr Vince Proctologist wrestlecrap deal.

Possible scenario for JR's return: Vince comes out, pissed at Joey, and makes Coach the official voice of RAW. Coach sucks it up on commentary as only he can,* and before the main event of the show, Linda comes out angry at Vince for getting it on with Candice Michelle. She realizes the error of her ways, and rehires JR.

I love how it looks like the Squad are starting to develop their own personalities. Mitch is the leader (fitting, since he's the only one with a 'y' name), Mikey is the spastic crazy-Rudy one, Johnny and Kenny are the athletic ones, and Nicky is....well, Nicky is the Zeppo thus far, but I'm sure he'll develop something. He was a caddy, doncha know!

The Odd Squad could be a fun regular unit to challenge the Squad for the titles. I think the fans might actually dig goofy face Gene Snitsky. Could all of the Bischoff references tonight could be a hint that he's coming back as Raw GM?

* = by the way, Joey/King were loads better as a duo doing commentary. Coach is the dead weight, not Joey.

Somebody explain to me how 2 bitter enemies who have waged a bloody feud for the last 10 years (according to the WWE) are going to put that aside to be all buddy-buddy again. And that's not even getting into how a 40 year-old born again Christian and the guy married to the boss's daughter are supposed to be anti-authority rebels. But, hey, "OMG HE SAID SUCK-IT!!! And if they want to go that route, at least set it up so someone new/upcoming can get the rub, other than just using it to put over HHH/HBK. Because if it is just for the benefit of HHH/HBK, what's the point? It was cool nearly a decade ago, why not come up w/ something new?
