I'd heard that we might see Alpha this week and Alan Tudyk (who is awesome, but we knew that) was appearing, and while I thought they might be the same person, I bit on his role as Kepler, especially since it seemed like they cast him to just play wacky Alan Tudyk again. But when Saunders saw him and he knifed Victor, I was like, Oh yeah, Tudyk's even more awesome than I remember. I fully expected him to finish the job on Saunders at that point, so count me surprised that she survived the episode.
Victor as Dominic was fun. That must be a hell of a mind trip to wake up in someone else's body and know that you're completely boned. What was up with him calling for Whiskey? Being that would be the W name for a doll, who was he talking to/looking for?
Seeing Bellard in Adele's office was wonky. I liked that Boyd basically let Bellard in and then tried to reason with him that he'd never get away with it. I'm surprised Bellard didn't understand that already. Bellard seems like he should be smart enough to know that an organization that can effectively hide a building wouldn't settle for him leaving with an employee/victim. But maybe that's why Alpha chose him as his buddy-cop on this escapade.
I look forward to next week's finale. Its been a nice run.
You believe me, don't you? Please believe what I just said...| Promote this thread! | | Big Bad

I got the impression he was referring to Dr. Saunders. Perhaps 'Whiskey' got so slashed up in Alpha's initial attack that since she couldn't be used for normal engagements, she might as well be the new staff doctor. Maybe the real staff doctor was killed by Alpha, or perhaps the Dollhouse just finds it hard to find medical personnel given how advanced the duties would have to be.
Saunders as a doll would, however, take things closer to my great fear for the series, which is that it'll turn out that pretty much everyone (Adelle, Boyd, Topher, etc.) is a Doll and we'll never get to the upper layers of the Dollhouse operation. Then again, if this means more time for Amy Acker in a theoretical second season, then I'm all for it.
How great was Enver Gjokaj's impression of Reed Diamond? Gjokaj and Dichen Lachman have been great in these roles, and have helped offset Eliza Dushku's hit-or-miss acting.
Kirk, crackers are a family food. Happy families. Maybe single people eat crackers, we don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know. It's a market we can do without. |
