I can't really argue with most of this list. I think the hate for Tony K is a bit much, but being in the DC area, I guess I've got use to his speaking/writing style over the last 20 years or so.

If you don't take Bill Walton seriously, he's actually pretty funny to listen to.

Stuart Scott should be ranked higher, and why the hell is Jenn Sterger on the list?

Sterger is a sportscaster in what way? Though I did read she got her coat and camera stolen at the Madden Bowl party last night which amuses me.

Aikman that bad? Really?

If we're talking about Mr. Tony strictly as a MNF guy, I can buy it, he's not very good. I love him in every other job he does.

The inclusion of Gus Johnson almost invalidates the whole list for me.

So does the inclusion of Dick Enberg. I mean, seriously?

    32. Mike Francesa

The guy is a talk show host. Unless they are talking about the one time he and Chris Russo announced a Mets game as a WFAN promotion. Otherwise he shouldn't be on the list.

That list is awful. It makes my most awful top 50 lists list.

Highest on the list should be the guys who think they're the story, not the players. Stuart Scott, Chris Berman, Steven A. Smith and Jim Gray should be at the top of that list.

Thannon Tharpe should be higher because he's a mouthy ex-jock who gets very little right, and he has that thtupid thpeech impediment. How do you put a guy with a speech impediment on TV as an announcer? At least he's a studio guy and not out calling games.

I think they did get it right about Joe Buck. Lighten up, dude.

Dicky V, Paul Macguire, Joe Theismann, Mike Patrick and Skip Bayless are all bad enough that I'll turn off the radio or TV rather than listen to them. I would throw Jay Mariotti and Bill Plaschke on that list also, but they're not sportscasters, just sports reporters who I have to listen to. I can't mute them fast enough.

I'm a big Steven A. fan, and I'm ambivalent on Stuart Scott, but I totally agree with you on the other two. Have people already forgotten about the Jim Gray-Pete Rose incident?

Ask Lou Holtz.

I generally like Aikman, but he lost me this year when he made a comment about something happening to teams in "playoff-TYPE games" five minutes into the NFC Wild Card PLAYOFF game. Not an isolated incident, either.

If John Sterling is on this list, how is it that his companiera Suzie doesn't top the list?
And, how times change. Who ever thought a bottom 50 announcer list would be compiled and Brent Musburger wouldn't be on it? And I like Brent, but he has been disliked by many for over 30 years.

Any awful announcer list that doesn't have McCarver as #1 and #2 Joe Buck is a waste.

That's exactly right, Jay.

Any "worst sportscaster" list that has Gus Johnson on it isn't worth the paper it's printed on. And this one isn't even printed on paper.

Good for the USA, especially considering Mexico has been reaching Italy's level of whining.
