I'm getting up. I'm waking up my roommates. Opening day was not meant for groggy conversation over coffee and eggs, but F it. It's opening day. The most beautiful day of the year.

Is anyone else this stupid?

My roomate and I are both Yankee fans, so yeah we're getting up at 5 to watch the game. That means that I'll probably go right to bed after Raw so I'm not falling asleep at the office tomorrow.

Hmmm. It's tempting, at least. I have homework I'd need to do as well, but I could always do that while watching the game. So yes, I am that stupid.

Oh hell yeah I'm that stupid. You can't just ignore opening day because they send it to a ridiculous foreign land with ridiculous foreign time and have a team full of jerks playing a team full of losers.

I'll probably watch too, Giambi is on my fantasy team so i'll probably watch and pull for him to hit 5 grandslams. But I'll still cheer for Tampa Bay to win 21 - 20. But it's not really a big deal for me to wake up that late. I've learned to sleep for just 5 hours a day since i was in middle school.

It's 2 AM for me, I'll either stay awake straight through and crack open a cold one and pass out from exhaustion midway through the beer, or go to bed after Raw and mix me a nice SoCo and Pepsi, and enjoy the game. I'm too much of a baseball geek to pass it up, even if it is the Yankees playing in this game, and even if its stupid to open the season a week before everyone else and in Japan.

In the context of baseball, the use of drugs hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, the use of alcohol hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, womanizing hurts whom? Maybe the wife of the player? In the context of baseball, felonies are crimes against society, not against baseball. In the context of baseball, gambling is the only crime against baseball.

Gambling, in the context of baseball, is a capital offense and Rose has richly earned-- hell, he agreed to-- his death sentence. Let him hang.

The big question actually is do I wake up at 4:30 to subject myself to the Yankee radio pre-game show and John Sterling. Actually, since the ESPN announcers will be calling the game from Connecticut studios, if the lag isn't in effect I might actually listen to Sterling and Steiner, as at least they'll be in the ballpark and might be able to pick up stuff that the cameras don't. Sterling/pick up stuff? Well, weirder things have happened.

Why is it in Japan? Money. MLB gets deeper into the Japanese and Asian markets, thus having more merchandise sold. Also, they'll get bigger crowds for the 2 games in the Tokyo Dome than they would at Tropicana Field. And Steinbrenner agreed because it further penetrates the Asian market with the Yankee brand name, thus causing the YES Network to get a foothold in Asia.

Since I work both NIGHTS and WEEKENDS, I am luck to be both awake and off work when the game starts here in an hour or so from now! LETS GO YANKEES!

Has Heredia been cut yet? I said it last season after the Red Sox had Chad Fox implode in the 9th on opening day against Tampa, so I'll say it now for the Yankees, particularly due to the mentality Steinbrenner has regarding Tampa: Game 2 of the Regular Season is an all hands on deck game. If Rivera needs to go 3, they'll have to roll him out for 7-9. Hopefully A-Rod knocked Quantrill out for a few weeks, thus severely weakening the bullpen. And, I have to say, I hate the camera angles off the bat the Japanese provide. I can't judge the ball since they are so off-center.

Man, it was a horrible outing for the Yankees. But to be fair, the D-rays looked pretty good, running on the bases, hit and runs and the pitching wasnt terrible.

Is it just me or does Kenny Lofton look like Mickey Rivers in centerfield?

Thank you for your irrelevant opinion.

After watching Field of Dreams and A League of Their Own back to back the other night - I couldn't wait for this day...night...early morning. Although I didn't get up at five, I did catch most of the game on tv and on radio driving to work. Kind of weird driving to work and listening to the Yanks. Sucks they lost...but it's a long season.

Opening Day = all is right again with the world...

This is the regular wake up time in Pieland. Pieman, Piewife and all the Pie-lettes are up every morning at this time. So, yes I watched it. I have a distaste for the Yankees so it was a beautiful morning today!

And these are the standings at the halfway point of 2010: AL EAST NEW YORK 56-32 - TAMPA BAY 54-34 -- 2 GB BOSTON 51-37 -- 5 GB TORONTO 44-45 -- 12.5 GB BALTIMORE 29-59 -- 27 GB Ok, so the Yankees are winning the division. That's nothing new.
