Hadn't seen anyone mention this, but there's a huge clearance going on right now at every Circuit City... it began yesterday, and goes on until at leat this Saturday. A lot of them have already been picked bare, but at mine this morning, I found Beach Spikers for GameCube, and Wild Arms 3 and Unreal Tournament for PS2, as well as a few games I know I should've picked up.
Just figured would give anyone that needs it a heads up.
I went to a couple different Circuit Cities last week 'cause I had heard about this sale on some videogame site. One of them was completely picked over with nothing even worth my $4.99 and the other one really ticked me off. I was glad to see Simpson's Hit and Run for the X Box and Billy Hatcher for the Gamecube in the bin. I had seen both these games listed online as part of the $4.99 promotion last week, so I wasn't expecting any trouble. when I got up to the counter they rang up as their regular price. When I told the girl they were in the clearance bin she said they were probably in the wrong place. I said I was pretty sure they were supposed to be on sale, so she called someone over in the videogame department, who then said to *not* give me the sale price on them. So maybe they weren't supposed to be on sale, but it's odd that I saw them listed on some site as being part of the sale *and* they were in the clearance bin. Needless to say I didn't buy anything that day. So yeah, damn that Circuit City.

Not sure I buy the entire "Gamestop is DOOMED" rhetoric - there are those who still prefer to buy hardcopy versions of games. How does this differ from the creation of the Wii Shop, the Xbox Marketplace and the Playstation Store?
