(Click on the "DVD" thread icon to find threads going back to the beginning of the year...here are links to the previous four weeks: 7/3 - 7/10- 7/17 - 7/24)

Hello.

Another week, another 311 listings for you to peruse. Of those 311, only five are 300...I hope I've confused you already!

Y'know, we get hundreds of people who find these threads on a weekly basis thanks to the awesome power of the Internet and it's magic finding devices, but what I'd REALLY like is for someone to stick around, maybe register, and join in on some of the other conversations we have around here. Or maybe even start one of their own! Just a dream...just a dream....

For those of you who HAVEN'T been here before, these lists work like so:

Hovering over links should provide you with Amazon's current price.

CLICKING on those links will take you to the Amazon shopping cart with a friendly referral from The W - consider making your purchase through us and it'll place a few coins in our tip jar!

Because Amazon sometimes can't come correct with the information, you will see some exposition from me (or, more likely, a bad joke) in addition to the listing along with IMDb icons (which can be clicked to take you to a movie's IMDb listing) or tv.com icons (which can be clicked to take you to the relevant episode list from tv.com)

All links should open in new windows so you can come right back here after your research! (If you want - we're totally flexible about that!)

Please tell a friend (or vote this thread up Digg/Netscape/&c. with a click of the icon(s) of your choice at the bottom) about this post because it takes me a long time and I'm a big fan of more eyeballs!

Please feel free to add a reply and share your two cents about any of the listings you see here - show off your impressive knowledge, share your opinion about something you've seen, something you're looking forward to seeing, or make your own crappy jokes which are better than mine!

We also hope that if you buy something, you come back and tell us what you thought about it! This hardly ever happens, but again, we can dream!

If you have something to say but don't want to say it publicly (or register for the board - but geez, why not just register for the board?), you can also email me direct at CRZ.DVD@gmail.com!

Without further ado...

Let's begin with a mind-expanding

PICK OF THE WEEK:
John Wayne's Tribute to America (The W at Amazon) ("Swing Out, Sweet Land" - NBC, 1970) John Wayne's personal message them Vietnam war protestors - won an Emmy - as much fun as a variety show hosted by John Wayne can be - bonus material includes Wayne and Ed McMahon's Budweiser commercials - did I say "mind-expanding?" I think the Duke intended an opposite effect...but don't quote me on that!

PICK OF THE WEEK - RUNNER-UP:
Popeye the Sailor: 1933-1938, Vol. 1 The long, LONG wait is over - FINALLY the Fleischer-era shorts get the restoration and collection they deserve. Thanks, King Syndicate, for FINALLY getting off your keisters and letting Warner Brothers put this collection together! 60 shorts and oodles of bonuses - WORTH THE EXPENSE.

IMAX:Space Station (formerly Space Station 3D - 2002) Narrated by Tom Cruise

There's a joke there, somewhere. I'm just not clever enough to come up with one.

Yeah, it should, but we don't live in Shouldland! Ah, Shouldland, where clean-cut kids cruise Shouldland Boulevard, and the Shouldland High football team gets their optimistic asses kicked by their crosstown rival, Reality Check Tech.

Just as an FYI, The Prodigy (amazon.com) is listed on Amazon with an availibility date of 9/4/2007, but it will be out at other places on 7/31. I just happen to watch it last night, and while it was low budget and a cast of no-on-I've-ever-heard-ofs, I thought The Prodigy was a really good action-thriller.
