Dare I say it's even close to reclaiming its title as the best show on television.
We're actually getting some genuine progression in Kenneth's character being promoted and getting ever-closer to the S1 prediction of "in six years we'll either we working for him or dead by his hand."
"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." --- Bart Giamatti, on baseball| Promote this thread! | | JustinShapiro

Community and P&R are more consequential to me because the relationships on those shows are more substantial -- I've never really been invested in Liz finding love or whether Jack and Liz are getting along, and everyone else is a crazy person -- but it makes the best jokes in the land. There were two just last night ("do you have a second Kenneth?" and Tracy finally understanding the end of the Sixth Sense) that made me downright ashamed that my own sense of humor would never conjure me up anything that good.
Also think Chloe Moretz has been outstanding both times out. I was worried that the Kabletown merger might have Sabre-like implications on this show but the Hank Hooper era seems to have provided a renewed spark after the season 4 lull. | samoflange

Normally that would be a sign of a poorly written show with limited shelf life, but the joke writers on 30 Rock are incredibly talented and the comedy is always fresh and spot-on. While other recent sitcoms have thrived on the Office model of creating interesting characters that the audience grows to know so well that really subtle lines and actions become hilarious, 30 Rock has absolutely perfected the classic in-your-face sitcom format.

If you don't buy into the Liz/Jack dynamic this show is probably going to be really hit and miss. The show for me has gotten better the more invested I am in it. | dwaters

I find the 30 Rock viewing experience is like standing in front of on of those batting cage pitching machines where the jokes come flying at you and you try and catch a piece of as many as you can as they come whizzing in one after the other. It can be exhausting, yet rewarding.

And none of it matters, cause community is back next week.
My girlfriend recently has been catching up on season 2, so I've been re-watching. Then we saw the trailer for the new episodes during the soup. Holy hell I love that show. | Torchslasher

You guys are right about the jokes being more important than the characters, but you can still feel for them (Kenneth stuff was great). Chloe Moretz can do no wrong (great in Hugo, great in Kick Ass and great here).
