This thing was overall, pretty good. A few slow spots in the first 10-15 minutes, then it picks up nicely, lots and LOTS of blood and gore.
The ending was a bit corny (the ACTUAL end, not the end of the 'vampires are everywhere' aspect).
Josh Harnet, who I generally am apathetic about, was great in this movie.

Very gory, and creepy. Like the comics, the premise is better than the actual delivery, but still worth checking out if you are a fan of the genre.

Did anyone read Ebert's review? It was inaccurate. For example, he had no idea how the vampires got to the town, so he surmised that they must have trekked miles and miles in just their street clothes. He also said that the old coot trying to escape was missing from the film. Huh?! I generally agree with his writings, but I don't think he was paying attention to this movie. |
