    24 Clears 18 Viacom Stations

By Paige Albiniak -- Broadcasting & Cable, 10/14/2004 2:09:00 PM

Twentieth Television has cleared Fox thriller 24 for an off-net syndicated run on Viacom Inc. stations in 18 major markets, covering 34% of the country, the company said Thursday.

Stations on the roster include WCBS New York, KCBS-KCAL Los Angeles, WBBM Chicago, KYW-WPSG Philadelphia, KPIX-KBHK San Francisco, KTVT-KTXA Dallas, WWJ-WKBD Detroit, KSTW Seattle, WTOG Tampa, KMAX Sacramento, KDKA-WNPA Pittsburgh, WJZ Baltimore, WNDY Indianapolis, WWHO Columbus, WUPL New Orleans, KAUT Oklahoma City, KEYE Austin and WFRV Green Bay.

A majority of these stations will run the Kiefer Sutherland starrer twice per week when it begins airing next fall.

Under the terms of the deal, Twentieth and station will split the ad time, with each getting seven minutes to sell.

Variety adds that this is a weekend deal for these stations, with Twentieth Television still searching for a cable home for a simultaneous Monday-Friday deal. By Fall 2005, there'll be 96 episodes? I guess that's 19 weeks plus one...

Me, I'll probably just stick to the DVDs.

WTOG Tampa?

That's funny, I wonder when they'll be showing it, between the two episodes of the Simpsons, the two episodes of Friends, the Saturday Hooters Theatre, or the new Creature Feature they just started up showing CRITTERS 4?

This is our UPN affiliate, so atleast it's a MAJOR step up for them.

Anyway, still a really good movie and I thought it made much better (or at least more consistent) use of 3D throughout the film than most things I've seen.
