Holy crap. The clock is ticking for Audrey. I thought she was finally going to be done in this episode, but it looks like she got immunity for one episode longer.
Heller screwed Jack and Audrey. Jack and Audrey went to them for help and it was his meddling that screwed everything.
OK, did anyone else think that maybe, just maybe Bill is a little shady? What did Bill do with Wayne, why wasn't he at Bill's house? Or did he stash Wayne somewhere else?
I also think, maybe Novick could've had General Warner correspond with CTU/Homeland Security explaining that they got no order to pursue Jack. Then as Mike did, they would've realized that the President's shady.
If Audrey doesn't buy it the next episode, I bet it will be the next one after.
1. What happened to Aaron Pierce? 2. Was that the real recording?
#2 may seem like a bad question, but the way they're making it the crux of Logan's argument, and how readily Jack gave it up makes me think it may be a decoy.
PS: Was anyone else rooting for Chloe to beat Shari down?
In one sense, this episode makes last week meaningless, since everything they did was undone. In another sense... perhaps that's overthinking. The show is always about reversals of fortune, the good guys and bad guys alternately having the upper hand. From the previews, it appears Henderson will be in Jack/Audrey's clutches next week. Whether Henderson kills Audrey, well... It would seem to be a pretty convenient way to "shock" the audience.
I think that was the real recording since it looks like next episode Jack and Audrey go after Henderson in order to seize it back from him.
Aaron Pierce, I think he was "silenced" by the same people in the next episode telling Logan he needs to "silence" the first lady. I hope its not true, it would really suck if Aaron gets an off screen death this season.
I want to know what happened to Curtis as well. Was he replaced because he was with CTU? You think Jack and or Bill would call him up for assistance since he's a guy they can trust. Curtis proven to be pretty reliable the last 2 seasons.
Is there anyone left from season 1 except Jack if Aaron is dead?
I don't think everyone makes it through the next episode. I just don't know who is going to die.
I have to believe that it's the real tape, since the whole plot is revolving around that right now. If he gave up a fake, it wouldn't set up nearly as much fun. Besides, when the heck would Jack had a chance to get a hold of a second tape?
The Bored are already here. Idle hands are the devil's workshop. And no... we won't kill dolphins. But koalas are fair game.

Well said.
I love that Henderson is an even match for Jack (in contrast to Saunders and Marwan, for instance); Henderson is like a counterpuncher in a boxing match, whereas those guys always came right at Jack, Jack fought them back and they had no chance at that point.
Calling my shot: Henderson's "There's always a contingency plan, Jack" can only mean (dum dum dum) Henderson has Kim.

Novick. And Kim I guess since she's not dead and can always pop up for no reason.
Don't forget Naked Mandy!

I thought for sure that Heller was going to be in on it. Who taught him the five finger poke of doom?!? Didn't see that coming. I also have thought Bill is a little shady. There seems to be a lot of people go MIA this season, like Curtis and Mike. Are they catching a nap? Curtis is too bad ass to keep in the background. Anyway, great episode. The showdown with Robocop should be great. And I have visions of Jack arresting the President and maybe knocking out a few of his teeth while doing so. Say a prayer for Aaron.
The only reason you're not unconscious, is because I don't want to carry you.
Poor Heller. I can understand not wanting to drag the Presidency down any lower then it is, but to screw it up by letting his daughter (probably) get killed kinda sucks.
Novick has really gotten on the ball this season. I'd love to see him become President next year or in a later season.
Speaking of that, Kiefer Sutherland just signed a new three year deal to stay on with the show... not necessarily on screen for all three years though.
if CTU can be run out of someones basement, why do they need a multi-million dollar building? Shit, I knew the government likes to waste money, but SERIOUSLY!
I think this also makes Kiefer a permanent executive producer or at least gives him that credit for the remainder of the show's run. It also gives him some creative control and approval over a possible movie.
I dunno, could they condense 24 into a 2 hour plus movie and make it work?
Heller really sucked that episode. If that was all he was gonna be used for he should've stayed with his lame sitcom instead. How many times did Jack save his life and Audrey's life last year? And this is how he gets paid back. And to handcuff Audrey too, why do your daughter like that?
I'm not really seeing the need for Curtis. He's good for tag team combat missions and those are done with.
Not to dig up plot holes too much, but where is the emergency here. The president only let the terrorists have the nerve gas because he thought they'd use it on Russia, we'd invoke a treaty, and Russia would give us a big oil pipeline. Now the nerve gas is all used up and we still didn't get any oil. I see the TV need to wrap this up in 24 hours, but if you are going to go after the president, wouldn't you take the time to gather up all your evidence first and let the media in on it. The only reason to rush is if they think the president is planning on another terrorist-friendly act in the next few hours.

Henderson is a one-man wrecking crew hell-bent on cleaning up the loose ends. Once he's done, there won't *be* any evidence to release to the media. That's the emergency.

And that's when the other half of the swerve kicks in.
I've been saying it for weeks, and I continue to stand by it: Robocop, not Jack, will be the one to introduce Logan to his maker. As Robocop himself said, he's protecting the integrity of the government. And protecting it he is. ;)
smark/net attack Advisory System Status is: Elevated (Holds; July 5, 2005) It's good to see that the WWE isn't backing away from Batista or Cena. There's still some questions lingering over a few of the draft moves they either made or didn't make (Jericho being a prime example), but the stage is set for a solid run to Summerslam that may send the indicator down. The longer Triple H stays away is also a plus...

Tag team combat? TAG TEAM COMBAT?! You must've missed it last year when he broke free of his restraints, nonchalantly wasted his captors and got all stalky around that eeeevil office block. Curtis easily bests any other in-the-field sidekick Jack has had.
To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow
Started watching episode two, got distracted and didn't go back. I don't think it's working for me. On the hand, I did watch The Grinder and was pleasantly surprised that it didn't stink.
