Renee lost me at the Vossler family home with her ridiculous gunpoint glare, but won me right back when she turned her back to the wife and was on the verge of tears. The whole Vossler scene was one of their best ever.
They lost me again when they did stuff with Dubaku’s girlfriend (and her sister) – they were doing so well avoiding the soap opera this season. But they won me back again with Dubaku’s reaction to the sister’s ultimatum. It’s much more likely the gf has some tactical value than Dubaku luvs her.
I’m pleasantly surprised how they’re dealing with the mole(s) this season. At this point, the mole’s identity is not important. It’s just the knowledge that there are corrupted individuals that is driving all of the action and decisions. It’s a different take on the theme. Every other season, we would already have a name and face of someone doing bad things, and we’d go “Look! It’s a mole. When’s he gonna get caught?” It’s refreshing how they’re doing it this year.
Shit, Henry got shot!
This was either the last of the pre-strike episodes or the first of the post-strike episodes, I think.
Thanks to the douchebag who asked Obama about A-Rod (and Obama for answering), next week’s preview got cut off of my DVR recording.

Some "Special Ops" experience - he STILL took a knife in the gut.
We decided last week that surely Tony was lying when he said the super device was destroyed, right? He palmed it or something? Don't trust that guy!
(Hmm, I don't know WHY we're only start threads every other week - I guess I'm in the "hopeful that it'll consistently kick ass now that we're out of the strike arena" camp as well?)

| #3 Posted on 10.2.09 1655.07 | Instant Rating: 8.86 | BAUER: When are you people gonna stop thinking everyone else is following your rules? THEY'RE not! Dubaku is gonna kill Henry Taylor within the next 45 minutes unless we find him. You've got one of two choices. Now, you can either phone the president and explain to her that your *conscience* won't allow you to do what is necessary to save him, or you can simply do what is necessary. Pick one!
...
MOSS: Look at yourself. You have lost everyone and everything you ever had by doing what YOU think is necessary. I won't let you do it to her, Bauer. Renee will not end up like you.
BAUER: Are you gonna give me your keys or not?
...
MOSS: Jack. Jack! The rules are what makes us better.
BAUER: Not today.
