I'm happy the show came back and would sign up for another 12 episodes next year. I haven't been paying enough attention to know if that's a possibility, though the ending made sure to be open enough for just that.

The show was all pulp and stuck to so very played out tricks - can't go one season without a CTU/CIA double agent or White House intrigue, but we were just barely spared the annual coup attempt - but it was still fun to have Chloe hacking into things and Jack going all first person shooter on twenty people.

Aurdery never really connected as a plot device, and here at the end she was more interesting as someone who's death broke both Jack and Kate (who are inevitably getting together if there's a season 10.) Her death also means they would have to put someone we don't in the presidency next time around.

I was half joking about this elsewhere, but I really could barely remember why it was the Russians wanted Jack. (He tried to kill their president, pshaw) and I do wonder how much of this show worked for someone who wasn't really familiar with the previous seasons. They info dumped where they could, but the last third of the season worked if you were shocked to see Chang, a complete unknown to new viewers. Maybe there just aren't going to be new viewers.

(when they were doing the big mystery man tease at the end, I was trying to remember if there was anyway this could be Tony. Maybe not remembering everything is the best way.)

For a moment, I thought the president was going to die too, and so Mark would walk free because no one left around in power would have proof of his treason. Instead, we got the purpose of the having the first time jump in the series so Heller could have his prison of lost memories and explain how he's dying a different way. (He's still not getting an Emmy.) I was also surprised Belcheck didn't die in the last few minutes, seeing as they had never really gotten around to developing him.

Good season. How do you get 24 with only 12 episodes? Time jump 12 hours. If we learn anything from the first episode, Jack Bauer does not get captured unless he wants to.

This was a pretty terrific season, as as expected, lopping 12 hours from the usual format meant much more streamlined storytelling. Good action, no eye-rolling time-waster subplots and some genuinely heart-wrenching moments (i.e. Heller's speech about losing his memories, Jack almost considering suicide for a second after hearing about Audrey's death, Jack telling Chloe she's his best friend, etc.)

They gave Jack 12 hours to prepare for a handoff and he came up with the grand plan of....just letting them have him?

Man, he must REALLY love Chloe.

Other than that, a fun season. I really believed they killed the President but should have known better when he didn't get a silent beep-boop-boop at the end of his act. Also, kudos on them managing to go the whole season without giving his VP a name....which can only mean his VP was Tony Almeida, right?

Well, I had only seen a few minutes of any other 24 before this season. We are staying up to our camp in the woods and we get one over-the-air station and it happens to be Fox, so we watched 24 this season (and all the Gordon Ramsey we can handle). No idea who Chang was or really anything that was going on. I still found it quite enjoyable, though. So, yes cubs, there were at least a couple of people who watched that were new to the show.

Hey, they finally had a new episode of "The Office" on again. I thought this one was very good. Dwight as a sheriff's deputy is funny.
