Loved the showdown between Palmer and Sherry.

I hope this isn't the last of Mason. I can't see Tony as head of CTU.

Overall, another pretty good episode of 24.

The whole Mason departure thing got me thinking of a totally crackpot 24 theory. Mason never inhaled the plutonium at all. He's been working everybody since it happened, and is leading the conspiracy with the bomb/anti-Palmer events.

Kim checking the TV - Was that her first semi-intelligent action this season? Then again, considering her competence in handling the knife, Kim with a gun should be like Lisa Simpson with the gun in the military school episode. Either way, minimal Kim on 24 is like RAW without HHH.

Looks like a body count of 1, being the guy by the truck in the final minutes. It is at 73 now.

A good episode, but no real mark-out moments. Palmer vs. Palmer was disappointing considering the intensity of Palmer vs. Stanton the previous week. The closest was Jack's "she's lying" revelation.

Luckily she was using the MAGIC television that only gets LIVE events. (News, baseball game, news, weather, news)

I don't know - when *I* lived in SoCal there was only ONE station that would actually show NEWS at 9PM. Not to mention NONE of the newscasts I watched felt they had to clutter up the screen with a LIVE graphic - it was just kinda assumed, since you were watching THE NEWS and all...

Missed Opportunity:
Carrie: "Mr. Mason..."
George: "Call me George Mason."

George made me cry (almost). AHHHH SILENT TICKING CLOCK TO TAKE US TO THE BREAK, IT'S LIKE DYING (or, as Kim pointed out, "the opposite of 'Theme from NFL on FOX, downtempo mix for an injured player version'")

I hope I haven't stolen any of Dr Unlikely's jokes, but I know he can easily rewrite them if I have. ;-)

I thought the same thing last night. Then again, I guess it could be Tony or Michelle, too.

Didn't they do a similar "former boss that doesn't like me" co-worker story with Nina and some woman last season?

I really like how this show makes me look at the clock several times during the hour. Like when Sherry said, "David, just give me 30 minutes to explain..." I quickly looked at the clock and it was only 9:10, so I was happy that this would be resolved by the end of the episode.

I thought the Palmer-Palmer thing was good, but could've been even better. Loved seeing him ship her out at the end though...

Kim suddenly found a brain? strange finish, though, with him just letting her go. I expected him to blow his own brains out when he picked up the gun...

I feel the same way as Simba. I usually am looking at my watch to see how long is left when time is introduced on screen.

My big question is this. How much time is left in the 24 hours? They have the bomb now, or do they? Is there another? They still haven't found the 1 commando guy left.

I have trouble seeing where everything is going.

It started at 8 AM, so we have ten hours left to go. I'm thinking that the guy that was shot at the end of the episode was the mysterious missing commando.

They showed the mysterious commando's picture earlier and he was someone I recognized, therefore I don't think that was him that got shot.

Anyone know who that was in the picture. He looked like someone I have seen in film roles as a bad guy? Who was the guy int he movie Payback?

I expect to see him in a bigger role than just that...

EDIT: I just found him, I think. The guys in Payback was
Gregg Henry. Was that who the picture was?

I'm sorry, and maybe I am asking too much of you, but I will NOT accept just a one sentence critique of 24 from you. Hell, your take on 24 is more entertaining than the show itself some weeks. So don't tell me you came down with the "tomvejada disease"
About the Mason as mastermind angle, that cannot be right. Mason gave all his assets to his son. His hair is falling out. He is coughing and struggling to remain coherant in private just as much as in public. So I will be very upset if they have Mason be anything but a dead former head of CTU by 8am.

Last week GuruZim took us to task for acting like Rocky Horror Picture show people when it comes to this show. This single line from Dr. Unlikely made me laugh as much as his others.

'But if one is struck by me only a little, that is far different, the stroke is a sharp thing and suddenly lays him lifeless, and that man's wife goes with cheeks torn in lamentation, and his children are fatherless, while he, staining the soil with his red blood, rots away, and there are more birds than women swarming about him.' It was merely a joke referring to how you don't use many words in your posts. Didn't mean anything sinister behind it.

Alberta Green. She nearly tore CTU apart.

Speaking of which, George Mason is out for now. He showed symptoms in scenes where no one is watching, so there's no way he's faking it. It really would make no sense to show when no one is looking. Hell, I was expecting his hand to fall off when he shook Tony's during his departure.

They did the silent clock ticking thing, which was only last done when Terri was killed, so we're probably meant to think that this was George's last appearance (at least for a while). Next week, he'll show up next week at the last second (he hasn't said "goodbye" to Jack yet and has nothing better to do) to fly the plane out to sea and blow up.

I hope Tony as CTU head is going to make the CTU office stuff a lot more interesting. Is it just me or does the CTU office still look like there's daylight outside? Last season, it was much darker. I'm sure they changed the set around, but it really looks like it hasn't changed all day.

With more overt hints that Michelle is evil and the attempts at adding more characters to the mix means we have more people to kill off. While I hope we don't get another "mole on the inside" story going, it's highly possible that someone tries to spring Bob Warner, Nina (Where is she?), Syed(?) and whomever else from their confines at some point. CTU is not a safe place to be, as Terri Bauer and that cleaning lady found out last season.

I felt the last three weeks, while having good moments, were going pretty slow. The show kind of lost some steam when they took Nina off and put Jack and Kate together. The decoy bomb just seemed to waste time, and Stanton's torture (while probably short by standard torture levels) seemed to drag on. Now that they have the real bomb ad are a little closer to the truth, things are back on track. I hope they stay that way since we're past the halfway mark.

Sklokazoid, Nina and Sayed Ail are probably in Federal detention right now, and therefore not at CTU. Or so I'm guessing/assuming.

I noticed something last night: this show has the most interesting methods of interrogation I've seen in quite some time. Hell, the first seen of the first episode appeared to imply information extraction through torture, and we got that again with the Stanton interrogation (by the way, did anyone else here seriously think that Palmer was going to have the Secret Service guy apply said technique to Sherry in order to get the truth out of her? Now THAT would have been badass!). Then we get Bauer threatening Ail's family, going so far as to make him believe he kills his kid, and now, the painkiller treatment on Marie.

Also, all that stuff between Michelle and that chick from Division teaches us one thing: that even in the midst of a national crisis, women will always get catty with each other when in an office environment. Seriously, there better be a good reason behind that silliness.
